I'm surprised there isn't any discussion about this yet.

I'm looking forward to this a lot. I haven't read the manga (I don't think it's been translated yet), but from reading about it I'm expecting a great bromance. It's based on the manga by Asano Atsuko, who wrote the No. 6 novels, so I have high expectations. :)

Haven't watched any sports anime since I begun watching animr last year. I hear Haiykuu and that other baseball one is good but just never got around to it.

Happy to hear that this show has potential, might give this one a try.

To be honest, I didn't even realize it's by the same author until now :O

Holy shit, now I'm looking forward to Battery even more!

I love Oofuri and I'm so happy about this upcoming series *_*

Asano is not a mangaka, she's a novel writer.
I have no high expectations in this anime. I feel the production feels rushed given the announcement date. Maybe they just don't want it to announce early. And I don't want to have high expectations on a relatively new animation studio. But it's nice to see a directing and scriptwriting job done by a single person, by a Pupa and Nijiiro Days director. Let's see if he can do his job well. (haven't watched those two anime yet)

Yeah, I know she's a novelist, and the manga is an adaptation of her novels. I just called it a manga because the novels aren't listed on MAL. I usually just watch anime for a good story, so as long as the story is well done and not a trainwreck like No. 6 anime was, I'll be happy. :)

sorry my bad. I forgot how I got that Nijiiro Days. Maybe I mixed it up while I'm reading about the works of several directors and composers. I'm finding out why. And I know he directed Five Leaves and Ranma, it's just not recent.
EDIT: I get it. I badly mistook Ameiro Cocoa for Nijiiro Days in Japanese wiki. Dunno why.

Why do people keep on insisting there needs to be yaoi? Take your fujoshi bullshit elsewhere. You're forgetting the bigger picture if you just remained focused on that aspect.

Anyway No.6 novels was unforgettable, well fleshed characters with a great narrative to boot but I'll have low expectations for this series.

I'm just looking for something to relate to because it will be really hard for me to watch it because I don't understand why people like baseball or any kind of sport with balls

Are the novels that much better than the TV series? Thought the TV series was just horrific.

The anime is pretty bad, but the novels and manga are far better. If you thought the first couple of episodes of the anime were a good premise that fell flat, you'd probably enjoy the novels, but if you thought it was bad from beginning to end, probably not. I love the novels but thought the anime was just ok.

Maybe worth a shot. The world and plot seemed promising at first but the characters were paper thin and the "last boss" encounter was more laugh-inducing than anything else.
