| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Ah more of a breather episode for the first half. After all the drama and fighting, I think an episode like this was needed. The world fiction of the show is nice with the glowing jellyfish. Keith really is an ace of the Aerial Knights, not even Roid is skilled enough to take him on in a sword duel. I think Mikumo and Freyja also saw something disturbing this episode when they were performing. Very proud of Messer this episode and Kaname's solo is quite something. Oh God...Messer :( RIP. |

The dogfights, the singing, the drama, the feels finally all come together and made this the first awesome episode of Delta. RIP Messer-kun, you will remembered. Now Hayate, like Hikaru in the original Macross, will have no choice but to grow up as a man and as a pilot. He has to be the ace now. |

I don't think that's it from what I see around there seems to be some deranged competition to spot death flags and other stupidity just for the sake of bragging instead of just watching the anime. You aren't alone either I didn't expect it and damn was is brutal. The Mirage thing does seem kinda out there with how she looked at Hayate. Maybe the last episode they were together more then the anime showed? Otherwise I dunno what else to say. |

| i still think Messer is still alive since his variable fighter did not explode and the blood splatter just came from his arm exploding for example but i do not mind if he dies for good though since really Kaname is in love with Captain Arad more and that Messer is already in full Var mode |

I personally consider Macross F movies a kanon cause they had less hectic script and Kawamori handled them himself, so for me Mihael isn't dead. But still it was sad. And I didn't see any pineapples here (did I missed something). But at least Kaname's song was great and Messer had a great final fight. |

| I'm wondering if Delta will bring anyone in to pilot now that Messer-kun is gone. They are massively outgunned without him. Maybe it's not a new character, but someone they've already mentioned? Maybe it's the mysterious Lady M? LOL. It was mentioned that Arad was pretty good but had mellowed during the years so now he maybe brings his a-game. Hayate is going to obviously grow too and I expect Mirage to improve as well. |

| Wow that was a suprise, I mean I knew Messer would eventually die. Hayate is going to have to take over and get stronger to match-up with the white knight if they want to stand a chance and he can start doing that by actually fighting to kill not aiming at the legs/wings or something, that shit isn't going to work with the white knight. |

Maybe it was foreshadowed with the development he's been getting recently, and the death flag on him when it was revealed that he was infected by Var once was already pretty high, but damn, the ep was greatly executed regardless. R.I.P. Messer *salutes* , he was never a bad guy, just harsh on his companions since he wanted them to survive. Speaking of that, hope it won't be just plot armor that keeps Hayate & Mirage alive w/o him, because they're not even close to his skill level. Those two had better step up their game... |

Also Messer died because Keith got lucky when another ship sacrificed himself and ended up hiding him in the smokescreen of that downed fighter for him to take that last shot. What amateur mistake are you talking about? Messer actually thought he'd downed Keith, so Keith had that element of surprise for the last shot, ergo more time than for Messer to react. That's not an amateur mistake, it was good cold blooded tactics on Keith's part. |
