| So, basically... In a crime ridden city, a boy's grandpa, Danbei, steps up to challenge "The Lord of Darkness" a.k.a. Dolmeck. After some craziness, Danbei learns that a secretary is the legendary Cutie Honey who has forgotten her true identity. After a quick memory jog, she gets naked, transforms a few times, and saves the day. What a glorious mess. It was an entertaining mess, though. Those thirty minutes flew by. The animation was surprisingly smooth for what's essentially an ecchi anime. These kinds of shows don't usually get the big budget treatment. Fun. 5/5 |
| This sure is quite the different take on Cutey Honey I must say, especially the NSFW part is quite focused upon, or at least it looks that way! Either way an interesting start, and I'm looking forwards to see what this ova series has to offer! |

| Even more nudity than before, Go Nagai references, a scifi world coming out of nowhere and too many action stills and move lines? 90s "revival" OAV, I guess... No continuation of the dropped main story with the Panthers?! At least, Danbei is still here. Although I don't like him, it's nice to retain familiar elements. Also, thanks to him, we got a Mazinger reference. 3/5 Nice Devilman gargoyle. The kid is Danbei's grandson, so it makes him the son of either the grown-up or the kid son from the original time? Looks like he has a crush on Honey like his predecessors. This was my first exposure to the heroin, as trailer on my EVA VHS, when I was younger. I always thought it looked interesting, now I regret not watching it at that age. Let's hope it will eventually regain the stylish nature of its predecessor. |

Detailed drawings compared to the first series and it looks more polished overall, which make the characters more pleasing to look at from a sexual POV imo. The change to a sci-fi setting might have been random, but I prefer the darker tone mixed with the stronger ecchi focus. I wasn't really impressed with the story to begin with and watched it almost solely for the style, so the changes were welcomed by me. Definitely preferable as an action/ecchi. Ah and as you know by now, there's no proper closure for the story, which is also a reason why I eventually stopped caring. |
