Square Enix has announced that Rensuke Oshikiri's manga series High Score Girl will resume serialization in the eighth issue of Big Gangan magazine of 2016, which will go on sale on July 25.

The series was previously placed on hold due to a criminal complaint dated May 26, 2014, from video game company SNK Playmore alleging copyright infringement on its titles. The complaint was withdrawn in August 2015 after a settlement was reached by both parties. Square Enix withdrew all previous copies of High School Girl and will reprint the first five volumes of the manga under the title High Score Girl Continue.

The five volumes of High Score Girl Continue and a new sixth volume of High Score Girl will go on sale at the same time as the resumption of serialization on July 25. Production on the anime adaptation was halted at the time of the copyright complaint.

Good news, been really enjoying this series even with its irregular releases.

I hope the anime (announced quite awhile ago) also resumes production soon.

Hopefully this'll cause the anime to finally get made now that all the legal issues seem to be dealt with (otherwise this wouldn't even be happening, right?).

SNK realized they can't beat SE in video game sales, so they resorted to suing SE-published manga instead. What a pathetic move by SNK.
