In a situation like this, the one thing that Freyja can _not_ afford to do is sneaking away from the limelight like a cat caught with the paw in the goldfish glass. Mikumo already spelled out the problem that Freyja would me suspected to be a spy. Why had Freyja no idea how to deal with this? 3) Wordy, boring exposition concerning the Windermere side. Am I supposed to take sides here? Or feel in any way emotionally invested? Because I'm not. I'm not even interested in them, so far. I'm sorry. I really want to like this show, and I fully expected to do so. But at the moment, after the great start, Macross Delta has really started to lose the plot. I'm still watching for Mirage and Mikumo, and I still like Freyja. The rest of the characters leaves me completely cold however, and so does the whole conflict (I hesitate to call it a "war"). A friend of mine said "Japanese anime has lately gained a tendency to go for free-thinking misfit lead characters who demand that the world bends itself to give them the possibility to demonstrate how awesome they are". Macross Delta is the posterboy show for that. Unfortunately, this is sitting very poorly with me. Couldn't have said it better myself. Looking back at all the great male leads from Macross series past, Hayate makes for a poor bratty comparison. Haven't liked his poor attitude and rebellious ways since the first episode, and have way more appreciation for characters like Mirage and Messer. Freyja has a similar outlook, but even she is less selfish and more relateable in character than Hayate's "I just wanna fly" attitude. Even Basara, as rebellious as he was, did not think himself above authority and actually did concern himself with the safety and well-being of others. |

| The episode was really average but it was better than the other ones. The Hayate/Freya flying scene reminded me of the Hikaru/Minmay scene on Jupiter in SDFM:DYRL. It was ok. I feel like Messer is being the generic dick right now and will become bro to Hayate later. So predictable. Mirage is kind, lol. Trying to cover her student's ass. Like everyone said, Hayate is being more stupid and immature than ever. Why do I feel some of that cockiness resemble a certain SAO character? *cough*Kirito*cough* I felt like that they could've skip the intro to Mirage lineage but couldn't since new fans are maybe watching as well but I feel it's filling up time just to hit that 30 min mark. And really, producers? YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE ED TWICE???? Come on.... Make a new song for her alrdy. Fuck.... That plane dancing thing need some extreme digesting. Let me drink some vinegar first. Probably this trick gonna save him from going to be killed. Why do I feel that the only one with good flying skills is the captain of the Delta platoon? Hope the writers not gonna write him die and then, the others gonna get good. *Finger crossed* |
| It's honestly more likely that Messer will die because of Hayate, causing him to actually grow up, or be more realistic to the situation of war. It's clearly hinting that there will be a point where his actions and attitude will bit him in the butt, how has yet to be revealed. Similarly Freyja will undergo a similar situation, probably with uh, Mikumo dying. Also, the waste of money to use the ending song kills me, as one of the points of macross/idol shows is to make money by selling music, and not featuring new music defeats that point. |

| To be honest, I don't get how Hayate is appealing (aside from being super cute) or if he's supposed to be. Guy is lost, sometimes rude, has good dance moves, and I can relate to his love of flying. However, he is an idiot and he seems to change his perception of things quickly. At least he's easily motivated at times, and is starting to like Freya's singing. When you're lost, you need to chase a goal. But he's going to turn into a good pilot for the hell of enjoyment. You can at least fly for Freya? I'd figure Freya was related to Windermere (even her name). I think we'll understand them a bit more later because what they're doing is pretty rash. |

| I'm still having a hard time seeing Mirage as a "main girl" yet. I hope the action will get moving soon... we didn't really need a whole episode for our heroes to decide to stay... |

| Nice Honorable mention to Max and Milia plus clips showing a quick glimpse of her grandfather & grandmother... ^_^ Hayate could have been more of a douche. Grrr, she was trying to help! | Messer is clearly the best character so far. He should have stomped on Hayate even harder, his carelessness and arroagance is breathtaking and he seems to think everyone should just accept it. Astounding really. Hope Mirage improves as well, she is supposed to be talented but haven't seen that yet, get scored on by a complete rookie and then doesn't shoot the infected Spacey plane in the previous episode. Hope her character isn't all talk. |
