Which voice setting do you use?

I don't want to start any flame wars, this is just for personal preference.

And it's JPN for me.

WARE WA KUU! WARE WA KOU! WARE WA JIN!

About half the english voices are pretty decent, the other half are... less so. Rachel's and Bang's are especially horrible.

Meanwhile, none of the Japanese voices bother me, so I stick with that version.

Whatever is the first one I hear is the one I grow accustomed to. Since English is the default, that is what I'm used to.

Japanese for me. I agree with naikou. Whereas only a few of the English voices are good, all of the Japanese ones are good, so I go with that.

I actually mostly keep the JP on because my main, Hakumen, sounds MUCH better in JP than in ENG, IMO...

i keep it in japanese. i heard the english and was not...happy. besides Jin sounds so much more psychopathy and better in japanese when he gets upset.

but that's besides the point, i'm just used to hearing games in japanese so i'm a bit bias when it comes to it.

I actually think Blazblue's dub is one of the better dubbing jobs I've ever heard in a video game...especially with anime-esque characters and such. There are some instances where I roll my eyes, especially with Litchi's VA, but most of the time, it isn't too bad.

No matter what anyone says, I absolutely love Jin's english VA. He got the whole madman laugh down perfectly, imo.

No really, I stick with the Japanese voice work. However, I must compliment the English dub, it's absolutely the best dubbing of a video game I've heard. Bang comes to mind. I mean, he actually yells louder than his Japanese counterpart. Ragna = total badass. Tao is just like purrfect, imo. The only gripe I have with it is Nu. Ugh, god, English Nu vs. Ragna makes me want to turn the volume down, seriously.

I use JPN. I like Ragna's voice in JPN better. He's voiced by the same guy that does Gintoki and that makes me happy. :)

Well, so far its JP - 7, ENG - 3.

Kind of expected for MAL, IMO, but from the online matches I've played it seems to be pretty even.

I use JAP...it's like come on ! Japanese Seyuu are professional workers and they are doing anime and anime-based games for a living...not like english voice actors who doesn't have much experience in doing anime voices...plus When you see an anime char with a english voice....it just...doesn't sound right...I know that you know that Jap VA is the way to go ...

I always think of Grimmjaw when I hear Jin, and Rena when I hear Rachel.

I do agree about Litchi though. -_-

I'm surprised that there are so many people who use the obviously inferior english voices -even in MAL.

Have you heard Rachel say "Prepare to fire." in english?
Or Noel saying "I won't lose!"?
Litchi's "All Green!"?
Carl's "Are you okay, sis?"?
I'm also surprised that this much people here are prefering the english Ragna's voice (sorry don't know the VA) over Tomokazu Sugita's voice.
I'm not a "Wow Japaaaan!!!" type of person, but when it comes to voice acting in japanese games, english dubs are pathetic.

Taokaka and Arakune are not bad though...

English.

I used to think the Japanese dub was better... However,
Nu can be pretty annoying, Noel is extremely annoying, and Hakumen tries too hard.

IMO, The only thing redeeming quality of the JPN dub is Tomokazu Sugita (Ragna).
Also, Hazama sounds great in both dubs.

Regardless, I still think they should have put in the option to switch individual character
voices from JPN to ENG, and vice-versa... Like Capcom did in SF IV.

I use japanese voice(like all my other games) but I don't really mind English voice either.

-Bang's voice sounds manlier in VA in my opinion
-Litchi's voice sounds more sexy in VA
-Ragna's:''INFERNO DIVIDEER!!!'' sounds a lot better in VA but his English voice sounds badass too

All the others are fine with me in either English and Japanese voice.Sometimes I switch between them, but since my other friends are for the VA,I stick with it

My thoughts are similar. There is a handful of characters I like better in JP and the other handful ENG. I think they should of done the same as SF4 and let the player choose which voice actor they liked better as well.
Usually I play with ENG turned on because I like to enjoy this victory(Not meaning that one group better than the other, but meaning that, overall, the ENG voice actors did their job well).

I keep it on ENG mostly because it's much better when I can understand what everyone's shouting at each other than angry-sounding shouts I don't know. Also, even though the JPN has seiyuus that I'm fans of (Miyuki Sawashiro, Chiwa Saito, Tomokazu Sugita), I think the ENG VA's did a great job at matching some of the characters. The Kamina-esqe flair of Bang, the snobby British-accent of Rachel, the assholish demeanor of Jin (which sounded way too effeminate in JPN).

Always Japanese.

I just hate ENG dub, because most English voice actors are bad and when you dub something, you take part of game's soul. That's why I didn't even try to play game on ENG.
And I such love Ragna's and Jin's and Carl's voice actors. They are so amazing X)

I play with the voices in English. The dub is one of the best video game english dubs I've ever heard, but it has it's exceptions. I don't like David "Grimmjow" Vincent as Jin, though his Hakumen is a little better only because of the shear cheese factor. Nu is awful on the ears when she speaks in moe. Bang started out funny until I began story mode, then it got old quick.
On the flipside, Spike Spencer is great as Arakune! I love Kokonoe's English voice, I think it's Wendee Lee, and she sounds like such a bitch! I've been on bad terms with catgirls as of late, but Tao saved it for me. I might have to look back to Xenosaga to find a dubbed video game that sounded this good.

I prefer Jin and Rachel in eng, cause Jin sounds really gay in the Jap and Rachel has the british ascent in the eng which I think makes it better ;D
I think I'll prefer Hazama in Jap cause his VA is Nakamura :O
everyone else are good in both language

I agree too.

I like original.
I like japanese language/voice more than others, because I got some feeling of...(don't know how to explain)
I'm learning japanese.
....etc

That's why every game I play, I always choose in japanese language/voice.

I always choose Japanese voices. I get annoyed by hearing the English voices. I mean, they don't have the energy that Japanese voice actors have. And they can not do different types of voices like Japanese people can so they can fit every character they do.

The Japanese voice actors are just too good not to use. I can't stand hearing Toa say "meow" in english after hearing how fluid it is in japanese. Plus Hazama sound so badass it's ridiculous.

I play in english.

I really like Tager and Rachel's voice in english, and for the most part the english dub was very well done, better than most.

That said, Ragna sounds better in japanese, and I dislike hakumen's dub. Also Hazama just loses a lot of the...'power' in his voice in english, he sounds far better with his original japanese voice.

Like someone else suggested, it would be great to be able to choose the language by character like in SFIV.

In anime, you usually get a choice as to which one you want to listen to (either on the DVD, where both versions are available, or online where you can usually find the Japanese before the English comes out). Because of this, I'm used to enjoying the Japanese voices more than the English. And, generally speaking, the Japanese seiyuu tend to evoke a more convincing version of the character than English VAs do. Example: my roommate watches Ah! My Goddess in English, which destroys my sense of characters I've known with Japanese voices for years; Skuld is especially annoying.

But in games, the choice isn't usually there. So I don't usually have a preference, because all we get is typically English. Of course, I knew that BlazBlue had a Japanese voice track, but that wasn't a major concern for me. As a result, I played the game, fell in love with Noel, and have been listening to the English cast ever since.

That's not to say I don't like the Japanese voices. By and large, they're quite good, though not the best I've heard. Ragna's probably my favorite of the Japanese voices. At the same time, though, BB has one of the better English casts that I've heard for a game.

I use JPN voices, i like the way Bang sounds alot better in japanese, and as for hazama, his jokeresque laugh is so much better in japanese, the english VA sounded almost unenthusiastic. Then again pretty much anything that originated from japan i leave in japanese.
