It was a good enough episode if only for Asami who wants to do everything by the book ended up overdoing it in the end.;)

I'm liking the OST, totally.

I actually laughed at the notification part :'D Those were goddamn everywhere!

I'm not dropping - I'm optimistic it'll get better as the show goes on, especially since the pacing is ought to be good with the 2nd season and all.

There's so much going on in this show, it's kind of messy. Can't say I understand what Taniguchi is trying to do here? I wish he'd go back and give us another season of Maria the Virgin Witch. :(

Don't you get that they adapted whole manga?

I usually watch 4 episodes before dropping a show. I don't think I can stand watching another episode of this.

Episode that in many ways it's better than the first, in the first place there is an atmosphere a little less silly during the narration, the overall environment is still very serious, but the setting of this series do not think it will ever be in that type, at least for now. Drawings and animations that good, the CG and the sets are excellent, fairly satisfied episode. Not bad ending.

I don't like the pacing of this one, it's really messy. I didn't enjoy this episode at all, there's a high chance I'm gonna drop this, gonna give it few more episodes and see. WTF with all that English though :/

I am pretty satisfied with the newest episode and will probably keep watching.

Given the nature of this genre, I can deal with some formulaic elements as long as things remain relatively easy to follow. I was also glad they gave some attention to portraying how the new member thinks, beyond just being a complaining device like last time, and established a small ideological conflict with her superior. Not earthshattering material, and next week might choose to take a break from it, but I liked seeing that. The joke about the ads during the start-up of the new armor was fairly amusing too.

My least liked aspects would be the animation quality being reduced and how a couple of the non-battle songs were slightly misplaced. The music itself is good, in general, but the sound director seems to be reaching at times. There isn't a really good antagonist either, although it's admittedly still too early for that to matter.

Really? Well, nevermind then. That sure was a short manga.

So this series has episodic cases revolving around Unit 8 of the Police department. I'm really interested in the upcoming presidential elections that was mentioned.

Literally put me to sleep. The draw towards doing episodic stories is understandable but not every show can become GiTS:SAC. The main element that is lacking is the coherence of the world - it has to be perfect and make sense and yet here it feels like I am watching your average akito episode.

Dropped.

This trash got two cours? While a lot of good shows get stuffed into one? Well fuck me, anime is indeed dead.

This and haruchika are getting underated to shit. Apparently everyone thinks haruchika is on the same level as PSO2 online and that this is worse. COME ON PEOPLE. If you really wanna be hardcore critiques go do that shit on an anime has more depth. Anime that are made to entertain should not be shit on by people who only like stuff with incredible plot and animation and the such.

they seriously need to stop to make the MC girl to talk in english, that was pissing me off really bad. "This isn't the issue!" FUCK! you ruined the show. overall, i really like the action scene. it was pretty good tbh. still no matter how i look at it, this anime similiar to power ranger or kamen rider, something like that. i like the show but i kinda dislike the MC girl. she was talking like a boss to not to make any damage, but just look at what you just did. you just destroyed a whole building.

and btw, i like the design. the armor design in this episode. her armor design looked pretty cool. it looked more cool when the armored turned into black and purple color.

Edit: and i think this anime is too underrated. 6.10 ? at least 6.70 or 6.90 or maybe 7.02 will be good enough for this anime.

I don't really try to take anime ratings too seriously, nor does anyone need to follow the tastes of the majority opinion (sometimes that can be beneficial, but certainly not in every case). Look at Concrete Revolutio: that show was rated with less than 7/10 and got plenty of flak, yet it was still quite interesting and entertaining. If anything, its rating has only started to increase after the first cour ended.

I don't think every episodic show needs to become GITS:SAC, especially when this particular series clearly has some of its most obvious roots in Tokusatsu superhero productions, which are as far as possible from the philosophical examination of technology and/or cyberpunk police procedural concept of GITS as you could possibly go.

They're often just as lighthearted as Active Raid (or even more so!) and, generally speaking, not extremely serious even when the very goofy villains start becoming a threat. None of them are remotely trying to be like GITS.

I will also disagree with your opinion about the world. There's nothing really special about it, to be fair, but nothing about what we've learned so far comes across as "incoherent" either. In fact, I think the second episode did a decent job of starting to make sense of the situation surrounding the Unit by introducing the perspective of the media as well as that of the rest of the police organization.

Evidently, there still has to be plenty of room for jokes and gags, like in many Tokusatsu shows, but that does not make a world "incoherent" unless you are expecting total realism and seriousness. Which is not an inherent obligation for any production.

It's even stranger to see you casually comparing this with an Akito episode, since I am presuming you meant the Code Geass spin-off and not something else.

The structural, contextual and stylistic factors of both are also heading in radically different directions. Akito the Exiled is an increasingly darker tale about surviving in a depressing version of Europe where the lives of the main characters are, if not constantly lost on screen, then definitely under the threat of it. The chosen setting is very different from that of the original TV series, but it makes internal sense. The protagonist is someone who is mentally unbalanced and literally goes mad in battle. I suppose the only true similarity would be that you might dislike the two or felt a sense of boredom while watching them, but that commonality is very insufficient in every other respect.

This trash got two cours? While a lot of good shows get stuffed into one? Well fuck me, anime is indeed dead.

Considering that having more time can actually help the series improve and try new things later, regardless of the fact that you and others are absolutely free to drop it at this early stage, I have no complaints about this.

Asami-chan speaking in English makes me LOL

I don't know why the animation and characters remind me of a hentai.

The episode was okay. Perhaps if that mechanic dude wasn't such a creeper, Asami would have allowed him to help her with the suit/wear/whatever.

Hinata and her older sister look exactly the same. I can only tell them apart from their tits.

As a fan of Super Sentai, this show is SO good. Like, you guys don't even know. You're all complaining about how it looks compared to Patlabor and the real comparison is that it's clearly a riff on Tokusatsu, and from there it's just...awesome. Sentai has been garbage for like two years straight (probably three, this next one looks so bad) and this is just refreshing to watch. It takes so many elements of classic 80's/90's Sentai but still makes its own twists and embraces the freedom one gets from being an anime as well.

I found out this got two cour yesterday and I couldn't stop smiling. It's episodic right now because Sentai's always episodic at first but this episode has already sown future plot points for actual story later on, which has me hyped.
Jumping in Headfirst - I hear reading it causes immortality. Warning. Reading may not actually cause immortality.

Something about this show... Something about it... I can't place my finger on what, but I find it charming. I was a little weary about watching this episode but I thought it was pretty good. Is it the characters? The quick dialogue? The silliness? I suppose I'll find out eventually.

The main girl is by far my favorite. I love her seriousness, it makes her so cute.

Between the music and the mech suits, I really do get a Tiger & Bunny feeling to this show, and that's a good thing.

This episode was better but not great. The Engrish is very weird, I wonder why they thought it could be good.
The fight was nice, I hope Asami now understands that it's not easy to always follow the rules.

Much better than the first, getting that "Patlabor meets Dekaranger" vibe... Even more since that dude with the loli acts a bit similar to the bat guy from Dekaranger, but we'll see how things go from this ep...

I like that collateral damage and excessive force are brought up, but the show doesn't really dwell on them much. They feel akin to token mentions, if just to acknowledge that that the characters aren't actively trying to cause destruction, but they still do so anyways. This wouldn't be as much of a concern if the show hadn't brought up those issues as much though. I'm willing to believe that the characters could, luckily, end up fighting criminals in abandoned buildings or empty spaces, magically avoiding casualties. Now that Active Raid is acknowledging collateral damage and excessive force, they've taken upon themselves to try and address those issues in some respect, but that doesn't seem to be the intention at the moment.
