The latest issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine revealed that sports manga Days will be receiving a TV anime adaptation. The series is about two boys named Tsukushi and Jin. Tsukushi is a boy with no special talent or traits while Jin is considered a soccer genius. On one stormy night, Jin meets Tsukushi, and they get dragged into the world of soccer.

Days is drawn by Tsuyoshi Yasuda and began publishing in April 2013. The series has 14 volumes currently in print with the 15th volume scheduled to be published on January 15. In addition, the series was nominated in the Best Shounen Manga category at Kodansha's 39th Annual Manga Awards in March.

Reminds me of Area no Kishi~

However, I think if they can find a proper studio, it might be fun. Soccer's my favorite sport so looking forward to this.

Eh, never liked football anime. Being ridiculously unrealistic is a staple of any sports anime, but I can overlook it if I don't know much about the sport. I can't do that with football.

Loved Captain Tsubasa when I was a kid, I'll check this one out. Eager to see which studio will pick this one up too.

Looking forward to this :D

oooo a football anime! not THAT fond of sport anime/manga tbh but I'll give it a go.

Just waiting for the anime that doesn't feature the whole "one day, blah blah blah, met faggot, and faggot dragged him into whatever it was and his life will never be the same again"

Want one where he gets himself into something without someone else.

and no, Faggot wasn't a jab to gay people.

Hopefully Production I.G. snatches this. After basketball and volleyball, it'd be perfect timing for them to do a football anime. Anyone knows if the manga's any good?
5 main aspects I base my ratings on:
1. Did DramaEnthusiast make a thread about it?
2. Is it better than Breaking Bad?
3. Did MellowJello recommend the shit out of it?
4. Has it caused a (very entertaining) shitstorm on MAL?
5. Is it actually good?

Scratch the fifth point, it's not very relevant...

Been hoping for a proper football anime with up to date visuals.

My big fear with this though is that it'll be an unrealistic, gar-artstyled machismo fest with lots of poser monologue not even worth watching for the cringe factor.

Though if it's actually about football with tactics and strategy, and it comes across like it's made by someone who understands the sport, then I'm in.

But the chance of that seems like 2%.

Football isn't that complex like many other sports. You should know about your offside rules and formations but that's about it. Hopefully no unrealistic moves that we've seen in KnB and Haikyuu!!

And we'll probably get the foreigners as well in this to spice things up.

¨

It's plenty complex enough that there is a 98% chance something that came from a shounen mag would be entirely unrealistic and exaggerated.

If it was bowling or darts or something else completely one-dimensional then it'd be less likely to be botched.

I love football, so every new football anime is welcome. Especially because the synopsis seems really fresh and creative. I mean, a genius and an untalented kid with probably a lot of heart competing in a sport as a dynamic duo, never seen that before.

Sounds like Kuroko, but it's soccer instead, so why the fuck not? It can't hurt to have more sports anime in my life, even if this ends up not being good.

Please let this be done by Production IG.

FireEmblemIke24 said:

I don't really have a problem with that because I think it makes the anime more interesting. Most anime aren't realistic anyway, so I think an anime about a regular old sport being that way makes it more fun. But I'll admit sometimes things do become a bit over-exaggerated.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.
