Have you seen a person with absolutely no hopes, no dreams, just a whole bunch of nothing building up? I'm not talking cyber-bulling or whatever where the person just kills themselves. That might be bad to some, but that's not true despair. True despair is having your will crushed. True despair is having your mind turn to mush. True despair is when you feel so empty that the very act of killing yourself seems like a sin, since your body isn't even yours to destroy. Its the property of who or whatever put you in the spot." I remember seeing a middle-aged border-line homeless man who had taken the last of his families' money and had blown it all on alcohol. A real pitiful thing, this guy. But what made it worse was that he regretted it, but didn't even have the decency to cry. He just sat there at closing, staring at the bottle on the shelf. He was probably thinking about how he wanted to keep drinking to forget what he had done. Well, meanwhile, his family was starving, wasting away as they waited for daddy to come home. Hahahaha~. I mean, come on! The guy had gone past the point of being sorry by the time he was stumbling out into the back alley. He passed out drunk, a picture of his family several feet behind him in a puddle, torn in half. What a monster! Sure I killed a few innocents, but THAT can't be called human. Tell me, Coach, should I have let that THING breath in air or go through garbage to feed his selfish face? Homeless veterans deserve it more than that THING. So I killed him. And no, I didn't torture him. I just killed him. Quickly, although not too cleanly. So are you still going to try to say that I am 'a dog can't understand' what's right in front of me? You think your age makes any difference? You have nothing to say, Coach." He smirked, his tone shifting into a mocking one. "You can't deny me because what I say is reality, not your ideal little wuss of a world where 'the headmaster' is the filter of what's in front of you." Isaac stood up and walked a few feet away from the Coach before turning back. "I mean, if you're so mature, then just say 'no', or better yet, kill me right now. Prove to me that you're right and I'm wrong." He turned so that his body was facing the Coach. "After all, if you can't make see your 'light', then you might as well put me down like the dog I am!" Inside his mind, Isaac's voice was screaming for his passionate insanity to stop. He didn't want to actually die. He really didn't. But this Coach was too optimistic and it made him uncontrollably sick. Even the bit of goodness left in him agreed with the rest of his devilish soul that the Coach's way of life contradicted reality, that doing something for the sake of repentance was an empty reason for action. |

| Isaac His eyes widened both out of fear and bloodlust. However, he didn't move. The fight-or-flight instincts were taking over, and the answer to the quandary was obviously "flight'". After all, he would be fighting a teacher WITHOUT his powers. Not only was the idea asinine, but it also went against the mission. With his voice quivering every so often, he made his response. His words were sharp, but his mouth was clumsy. "W-why am I alive? Because I have what it takes to survive in reality. Can't be trusted? Please! If they really didn't trust me, they'd have killed me already. T-tell you what...I'd rather be afraid of dying while truly living in reality than be safely content while living such an empty existence like y-you." The small stream of blood dribbled down his cheek and onto his clothes. "And since you tried but failed to kill me, you just proved to me t-that your resolve is lacking. You haven't given up your killing ways at all. YOU are the one with the addiction to the thrill as you try to t-toy with your prey. YOU are the one who likes the feeling of power over his "v-victims". If you had killed me, you would have shown resolve in protecting your "students" from me, the "One-Hundred-Dozen Killer". If you had not moved, then your beliefs of repentance would have been proved. But no, you've chosen the middle ground, the one that leads to a dead end." Legs giving out from him, he fell to his knees, slumping forward as his breath grew more and more pronounced. Death had one against knocked on his door and yet he had lived to tell the tail so far. His fierce words betrayed his visible anxiety, but the words existed nonetheless. In a soft, almost weaker voice, he said: "You're the killer, not me." |
