| If you are attempting to join the WASTE network and cant connect to anyone its because we are now using Alliance. Getting started 1) You can get WASTE here http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=82356&package_id=84413 2) once you download it, install it and fill in any forms that it asks you to. 3) For network ID or a Network password, add this animealliance Its case sensitive so make sure its typed exactly as I have it here. 4) After you are done with the setup you can add my buddy code and everyone else's in this thread. (you dont need to add everyone elses. Connecting to at least me will get everyone currently on added to your list). Waste will auto connect to me every time you restart waste). 5) in the network status window make sure your maintain XX connections is set to a number close to the amount of people you added to your list. This feature will try to auto connect to the number of people you specify every few mins if their offline. 6) Also make sure to port forward whatever port WASTE uses (I think its 1337). 7) POST your buddy codes and ip/DNS addresses here so we can test out WASTE. 8) Add more folders to share by going to file>preferences>send and click the add button to add more folders. You can add as many as you want. Once you add them click rescan so all the files will show up to everyone on the network. Also be sure to set the "rescan ever xx minutes" to something like 40 or 90. 9) Sit back and wait till someone adds your keycode to their client. FAQ Q) Do I need to add everyone's buddy code and ip/dns address to my WASTE client? A) no, as long as you can connect to one person in our network waste will try and gather their friends. It will also broadcast your code our to anyone in the animealliance network. Q) Why are we using this and not Alliance anymore? A) Alliance can still be used but almost all of us are switching to WASTE for the time being till Alliance's creator can fix all the memory leaks and bugs that caused us problems. Waste is also more secure. Q) I just added someones buddy code but I cant connect to them, why? A) They have to add your code to their client in order to allow you to connect to them. Some key features you may like about WASTE (this is not a complete list, so please try it out to see more neat things that it can do). |

| hmm cant seem to connect to you. Normaly you can open up he network status window and type in the DNS or ip then click connect and it would connect to you but for some reason it cant. Did you port forward correctly? Also be sure you have the network ID/password added. |

| lol ya, 404 was a nice post count :(. Anyway, in the options menu theirs a section called your ip addre. go into that and pick that your connected directly to your modem since you dont have a router or anything. That might help allot. Once your done with that try connecting to me using the network status window (view>network status) type in my DNS or ip (you can do a reverse lookup on my DNS to get my ip. |

The DNS I got was what was shown in ipconfig. As for the key, I figured it out already. It's for my private key, and I had to put my passphrase in. As for port 1337 (lol) I don't need to worry about it, because I go straight through the modem. I don't have/use a router. well I cant seem to connect to you at all using that DNS. | me and eppy can connect to each other fine but nether of us can connect to you :( wowlulz.servegame.com is what we have been trying. Try setting your ip address option to DNS and type in your DNS address. |
