There is an island whose only inhabitants are perfectly logical monks with strange practices. Every monk has either red eyes or brown eyes. Red eyes are considered a curse, and any monk who discovers that he has red eyes must kill himself next time it is midnight.

However, the monks do not have any way to discover if they have red eyes. There are no reflective surfaces on the island. While monks can see each other's eyes, they have taken a vow of silence and are not allowed to communicate with each other.

One day, a tourist came by and loudly noted that at least one monk on the island had red eyes. At first, all the monks just silently regarded this fact, but many nights later there were a bunch of suicides. What happened and how?
You will be what you will to be.

Ahaha. The reasoning behind this one is great xD
"I am the Bone of my Sword
Steel is my Body and Fire is my Blood
I have created over a Thousand Blades
Unaware of Loss,
Nor aware of Gain.
Withstood Pain to create Weapons, Waiting for one’s Arrival
I have no Regrets. This is the only Path
My whole life was Unlimited Blade Works"

The tourist said AT LEAST one, so I think the ones who committed suicides all had red eyes. So maybe a monk X with red eyes saw another N monks with red eyes And then waited for N days to pass. After nothing happened he understood that he also has red eyes and killed himself? Maybe? And the same goes for all the monks with red eyes

(I'm not sure what I wrote myself... It sounds stupid when I read it... xD)

Yep, I know I'm not good with putting my thoughts into words xD

So here's one which doesn't need much explaining:

A bus driver went right past a stop sign without stopping, he turned left where there was a 'no left turn' sign and he went the wrong way on a one-way street. Then went on the left side of the road past a cop car & didn't break traffic laws. Why not?

Riddle: You are playing a mafia game with 4 players. 1 cop, 1 mafia and 2 roleblockers. You are the cop and the other 3 players are rational thinkers. It is day 1 and you are the cop. Is there a way to ensure town victory and how?

Ok lets call the roleblockers R1 and R2, I am C and the mafia is M.

I claim that I am C and assuming noone counter claims as that would be a death-wish we form a plan where I (C) will investigate a random player between R1,R2 and M. Now I tell R1 and R2 to roleblock anyone except themselves and wait the night.
Now if I die the roleblockers will be able to know who they blocked and deduce who isn't mafia. If one of them die the other can once again deeuce who mafia is and if noone dies then we use my investigation result to see who is innocent and work our way from there.

Hows that?

But the 2 roleblockers might roleblock eachother while the mafia kills 1 of them. How can you then know which of the 2 remaining players are the mafia and which is the roleblocker? And if you choose to investigate the same player as the mafia killed, then you won't be able to use your investigation results.

Claim to be the cop.

If no counter claims:
Ask the other players to claim their roles. They will naturally claim roleblocker. Let's call those players A, B and C. Tell player A to roleblock B. Tell B to roleblock A. Lynch C.

If C is mafia, you win the game. If C is a roleblocker, the roleblocker left will roleblock the mafia, thus allowing you to lynch the mafia in the next morning.

If there are other claims:
If the mafia is foolish enough to counter claim, just ask the town to lynch you. After that, the roleblockers will roleblock the mafia, and then lynch him/her during the next day.

I'm assuming roleblockers can stop mafia kills by the way. They usually can't.

Alrighty well then, how about this one

A court jester is travelling across the land to go to Camelot, on his way however he encounters an old wooden bridge covered in rot. He is warned by a sage that guards the bridge that the weight of the three duck pins he carries are too much for the bridge, unfortunately the bridge will only allow him to carry 2 pins max. The sage however offers some advice to the Jester and smiling he continues on his Merry Way across the bridge safely.

How did he do it?

Accordingly to the riddle, he went through the bridge only once. Furthermore, he's a jester and we are talking about duck pins here, if you think about it juggling is the only solution that makes sense

No he didn't. The riddle says that he can only carry 2 pins max, but nothing about how many times he can cross the bridge. (Not when I read it at least)
But yes, my answer is way to obvious to be the real answer, so I think there is a flaw in the riddle.

"He continues on his Merry Way across the bridge safely"

How can he continue on his way if he immediately goes back after crossing? That'd be the opposite of continuing. And don't assume riddles are flawed just because you can't solve them.

He continues on his Merry way across the bridge with 2 pins in his hands and when he reaches the other side, he drops them and then he goes back to get the last pin...

I didn't assume the riddle was flawed just because I couldn't solve it, because you had allready solved it. I am just pointing out that there can be other solutions than the intended one because the riddle doesn't (at least in my opinion) clarify how many times he can cross the bridge.

At first, I thought the riddle was similar to the one, where a man has to transport a fox, a chicken and a sack of grain across a river, by going back and forth multiple times. That was untill I had read the rest of the riddle and found that there was no other restrictions than that he couldn't carry more than 2 pins at a time.

Answer: There is no right answer. It's a nonsensical riddle, so here's my answer:

Because there is a B in both and an N in neither =P

24 hours has passed, so I am going to post a new riddle.. (but you can still solve the old one)

It's known as The Salem Witches Puzzles:
Two friends are accused of witchcraft by the Witch Finder General (WFG), their future looks grim, and they are rather depressed. They perk up somewhat, though, when the WFG announces his test. They are to be separated, and each has to flip a coin. Then each has to predict the result of the other coin flip.

The WFG claims that if they're both right then they're obviously in league with the devil, and will be declared guilty and burned as witches.

Our friends are worried, but not too depressed. Clearly each has a 50% chance of getting it right just by guessing, so they only have a 25% chance of both being right, so they have a 75% chance of getting off.

Then comes the hammer blow: the test will be run 50 times. That gives a less than 1 in a million chance.

Our friends are clever though, and they devise a strategy that guarantees their survival.

How?
