Upon finishing the 2nd lite novel, I find myself fondly contemplating the strengths and weaknesses both the anime and lite novels have.

Those of you who have seen both, both seasons of anime and both lite novel volumes, what's some things you like about each of them, and what's some things do you find less desirable?

(Spoilers, of course, concerning both fields)

One thing that instantly grabbed me about the lite novel was how much more human Rikka was. She wasn't a walking moe character like she often can be in the anime, there felt a more human element. I also appreciated her interactions with Yuuta more in the lite novel. In the anime it's played up as a comedy act, their relationship.

Dekomori not being in the lite novel had me cry for 37 hours straight. Yet it works. Emphasizing Rikka's detachment from people, which builds a stronger bond between her and Yuuta.

Biggest complaint about the lite novel would be how Rikka's chuunibyo and death of father is very brushed aside. "When did you become chuunibyo?" "Eh, about a month or so back. Father had died too.... back to school then"

In the anime, first season, there's a great build to Rikka's revelation, only heightened when we find out, in final episode, that it was Yuuta who had, unbeknownst to him, helped her out in her difficult time by his chuunibyo he had. In the lite novel, it really is just "saw ya on the balcony... chuunibyo."

Was disappointed with the 2nd season of the anime. The first season had a lot of potential and loose ends, yet the 2nd season seems to disregard it. The 2nd lite novel, while also disappointing, at least felt more in sync with previous story. Nothing more to say other than, I loved the "NYAHAHA!" . I now do my best to say that out in public as much as possible.

Draw a pentagram and light some candles...

Or google the japanese name of it ( Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Volume 1) to possibly find somethin'. My copies were translated by a something mega64 or ultra 64, some guy like that. My findings also brought me slight worry, as I fount hundreds of curious documents suddenly placed in my folder. Hmm.

As far as i'm concerned there is Volume 3 of LN, right? Is there a translation, or are there plans to do one?
