About 3 minutes long and all in black & white style. I got some thrills watching this with the old school atmosphere. What an ending though!

I think I found the first anime I'll give a 1/10 to...
Wow.

Search for the Japanese title on Google and filter it for the last 24 hours and you'll find it right away.

Wow.

Care to tell me what you found so wrong with it?Just curious.

I think it was really interesting and I got exactly what I expected from it.But maybe that's just me as someone who likes experimental shorts :)
It feels like a really old cartoon and I liked the bits of live action footage.
This short could bring up some questions of morality...we'll see.

nope not subbed yet, but if you have a medicore japanese knowledge u can watch the raw.
it met my expectations, with the ge ge ge no kitaro vibe, eerie soundtrack and an unexpecting ending. but still 6/10

Damn, that was quite the twist at the end. Santa killed the old man instead of the bad guys, but it was justified since the bombs he was about to set off would've killed surrounding innocent people as well. Enma sent the right person to the human world to monitor their behaviors.

The overlapping of 2D and 3D is pretty awful though..

I give this 2 out of 10 because it is horrible in every aspect... except it was short..

Nice little experiment. They succeed in transporting that special showa flair(maybe it's just me, but showa and taisho era film is pretty often creepy as all hell) and the anime sequences, while not that good or entertaining in itself mix pretty well with the footage. This is more a mood piece than anything else.
In 9/10 cases, the worst thing about an anime is its fandom.

That's probably the point, as it's implementing animation of old. Sure, Warner Bros. did a better job the few times they had animation with live-action (in the 40s, no less), but this is Japanese animation we're talking about. It wasn't the best animation in the world at a time when Disney, MGM, and Warner Bros. ruled animation, if only because they didn't have the same resources we did.

So for an experimental short, I liked it. I hope we'll get the same quality throughout the show, but they might surprise us.

It was quite good actually, I am looking forward to other episodes! Might even get 10 from me, if they get me an interesting plot (first episode was interesting!)

This was really cool. Loving the dark vibes this anime gives (from the setting and story) and the black and white coloring adds to it. Looking forward to the next episode.

Well it's certainly interesting, if not for just the use of old footage.

Apart from the hater of the art, I need to add the story seems to be episodic as it is a short. To deliver such a nice plot twist in a short I am amazed :P
Who would've thought it was the old man ?!
I am liking this.
I don't know why people write that they are approachable persons,
if you were you wouldn't be on MAL.

I actually think there are a lot less than in other seasons, possibly because some of these shorts are 8 minutes instead of a usual 5 or 3.

I love the old style from animation, sound, to even using old-looking live action footage. I like the creepy atmosphere and it sounds like it might talk about a different aspect of Showa Japan in each episode, if this one was something to go by.

He should've done something about those jerks, too, though.

I barely even log in to MAL but I came here just to try to find a subbed ep 2. I loved the first one. The multimedia effect of the film footage and retro style anime was cool and the plot was downright eerie--especially for a 3 minute short. I need to find eps 2 and 3 subbed!

Hahahah I don't even know what to expect off of this anime anymore. Those first 10 seconds πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I was dead πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
This anime is supposed to look this old and shit right? Well job well done, I'll give it a 5 for the minor laugh they gave me.
