yep, I'm so dropping this crap, underrated? no, it's horrid, a show about baseball? no, it's a show about a cocky plot armored child. The drama is ludicrous, I don't even want to call it drama, so cliche and so obvious that most of the time I either laugh or skip it. The cast are losers that will get surprised over everything in each episode, and by everything I mean everything the main character does. Too much overpowering the mc, feels like the author was gay for him or maybe self insertion? Too much trying to make him look badass by using cliché methods, oh no he's injured and still playing he's so badass, cut the shit, did this come out in the 90s? The games aren't even worth watching, because we all know the outcome, and the way it'll be delivered to us (willpower > all, + hey we got owned by kaido's pitcher that means we can deal with slower pitcher, me make sense yes?). It's not like this anime ever made sense, some guy becoming the top batter in few weeks/months that could hit 160km pitches, yeah right but I sticked with this thinking the logic won't get worse but it did, it surpassed itself. And how they make a scene over some death for the whole episode and then just remarry after few episodes, you gotta be shitting me, adding some dramatic soundtrack and some dumb words won't make something inacceptable acceptable, well most of the time people will get fooled, that's just how magical anime is, they could show a gay scene and then turn it into a joke and they'll succeed. I just kept watching this because of some characters and because I like timeskips but I have long surpassed my limits. The first one was a 4, the second one was absolutely horrible with its overestimation of the mc. Goodbye horrible show, dropped at 10 episodes but couldn't bother opening a discussion thread for it, that's just how much I care about it.

Goro's really short sighted. If he destroys his body now, he won't be able to play baseball for much longer. Why kill yourself over one tournament and thus prevent yourself from playing in the years after? Too dumb to live.

I'd actually rather watch an anime about Toshiya and the rest of the Kaidou team. I haven't liked this season at all. Foreigner coach dude is the only good thing this season.

Though I enjoyed Taiga's smartass comments in his debut episode, his asspull existence kind of undermines the whole Goro/Shimizu relationship; Goro didn't even pay attention enough to know she had a brother. One that played baseball well enough to get scouted by Kaidou no less!

The same basic plot is being recycled each season. Different players but the game's the same. If this season doesn't get better soon, I'm either dropping the whole series or skipping to the next season. Haven't decided.

He should have taken the money from that slimy guy . . . It's free money!

Anyways, kind of on the fence over who I would side with, Goro or Shigeno, I mean Shigeno really is thinking about his future, however at the same time I think Goro might regret not being able to play against Kaidou even more than injuring his foot.

You have a point there, but I think you're overreacting. The baseball games are quite decent and captivating, even the qualifying rounds of the 2nd season got excited me pretty much. Compared to the other baseball animes like Cross Game or Diamond no Ace, three seasons of Major are WAY more fast-paced, in fact I can easily say Major has more action and greater character development. Even though I agree the drama could have been written better than that, since it's not the main purpose of the show I don't care much about the smallest details. I'm pretty enjoying the flow so far, and want to see more of it. =)

Fujii plan was pretty clever. I would be attracted, because I'm stupid and naive.

Of course he won't be able to play that next game. He totally lost his balance with his foot. Pitching require both of you feet, not just one.

It's kinda ironic that you talk about plot armor... in the one episode where lose his plot armor. Did you post your comment in the wrong thread? Also, that ranting made me feel like you want to watch realistic baseball, in an anime. I do understand you, but the problem you see, is that it is not adapted to an anime format. Baseball is, when watching it, very slow. Like really slow. Sure, you cut preparation bits, the pause between play, but then, it would look like a sportnetwork resume of a match. To make baseball interesting in anime, you must sadly make it unrealistic. Just like Haikyuu make volleyball super unrealistic, but extremely intense and engaging. I think I understand how you feel, but I just feel you shouldn't watch sport shounen type.
I also do agree that the drama is often cliche, but I don't think it's always bad. After all, pretty much everything today is ''cliche''. Early death of a hero dad? Yeah, of course it's cliche. But it was well executed, so I don't see the problem.

Yeah it really spells out trouble for his leg. Too bad that this being the third season out of six, we already know that he won't really damage himself like he did in S1. He could switch shoulders, but he can't replace a leg.

You can't be a batter either with a bad foot, so I don't blame Shigeno for being so concerned. I also think it's completely his right to step in in this case, both as a father and because of Gorou's history with his right shoulder.

Now that they have an extra member, I think this will go something like how I mentioned in the previous episode discussion: They'll play games without Gorou with Taiga as the pitcher until Gorou's foot completely heals. Only afterwards will Ichiro allow Gorou to pitch.

I've changed my mind, it would actually probably be bonus points if they have to face Mifune High before Gorou heals. That would be a real test of their ability without being so high level that it's unbelievable for Seishuu to win. Plus it wouldn't be a (likely) shutout for Mifune in that scenario.

People are being really harsh on this season for being "recycled" from previous seasons, but think everyone is exaggerating it a bit. No other season has de-emphasized Gorou's importance as much as this one. For once the world doesn't seem to revolve around him as much, and I find that refreshing.

Season 3 is becoming intense.

I hate those freaking injuries. Goro starts to ignore important lessons again. And I dont like to see Goro not being able to pitch.

Wondering where this leads and how Goro manages to play at the tournament.

I really like those guys in his new baseball team.
My only regret is having regrets!

If you don't remember Honda was a good slugger according to Shigeno back in High School. He was 31 so that means if he stopped batting to focus on pitching in his 20s before going pro, then gets his injury that hurts his pitching. I don't see how he couldn't awaken his old slugger skills.

5 whole months to recover?!? glad that Goro headshotted Egashira with his own blood money.

However Goro is big doofus for rushing it, seems like he didn't learn anything from the Saotome brother back while he was with Kaido on taking a proper break to recover his body
