 According to the Free!: Eternal Summer Special Event held today, light novel High☆Speed! will receive a movie adaptation titled High☆Speed!: Free! Starting Days to premiere on December 5, 2015. The official Twitter for the anime has been updated with the key visual.The light novel will also receive a manga adaptation, drawn by Shiori Teshirogi.  Kouji Ohji started writing the light novel in 2011, and it is illustrated by Futoshi Nishiya. The two volumes of the light novel are published under Kyoto Animation. The novel won an honorable mention award in the Kyoto Animation Award contest in 2011.The Free! TV anime series, which received two seasons, was later created based on the novel, but the characters are depicted as high school students rather than junior high school students as in the novel. | Prequels in anime dont work, unless its Fate/Zero. I probably wont watch this movie since its going to have one of the things I hate most in anime: Characters that are 13 and older being voice by chicks. |
| They won't be voiced by chicks... as far as I'm concerned, according to fans who went to the event, all the seiyuus will be their younger selves. This is not a continuation, but an adaption of what seems to be perhaps part HS and part HS2 novels. |
| Great news! :-D I can't wait for Aki to be animated. I really liked her in the novels. Also, all the guys in High Speed! 2 like Asahi and Nao... :-) It's a shame there will be no Rei though. :-( I still also want a sequel film or OVA (or even another TV series!) to Free! ES though. I want to know how Sousuke is and if his shoulders any better or not. And how Haru and Mako are getting on at college (And Rin in Australia!). AND THE OLYMPICS! |

From what I've heard from fans who attended the event, as mentioned earlier, the movie is most likely going to consist of possible both the 1st and 2nd LNs. |
