Dear gawd, that ending. Hotaka should've finally realised that Niki and him are both 'siblings' but holy hell Niki holding the sickle. This might not turn out good after all... Soga with the bald head was pretty funny though.

So much going on in this chapter!

The Buddhist monk version of Soga is funny as hell...

On-chan's reaction to it was even better...

Was that a half-assed apology from Soga to On-chan for how he dumped her? I think it was... Maybe those two have hope.

Of course, we all were expecting the two love-birds to show up at Grandma's cabin at the same time, so that was the expected development. However...

Nikki with a sickle = most gorgeous yandere looking beauty I have ever seen! (Well, she doesn't have yandere eyes, since she was drawn with minimal features until her eyes were squinting from smiling... Byt it gives off that yandere vive, no?)

I will put this in spoilers since I have ranted on it before and people may not want to read it... but this is my theory on why they aren't actually half-siblings, despite Nikki's certainty that they are:

That's my theory at least...

Can't wait for more, and for the Seven Seas published volumes. (I have preordered the first two already.)

And that is that. YES THEY ARE RELATED. Give it up already. They are not cousins. The extent that people go to ignore the obvious is simply amazing. The word delusional applies.

It gets worse (better) too :)

Same group (Silent Sky) is scanlating this. It's just not a joint project anymore with Tsundere Service Providers.

I'd like to point at as earlier mentioned on this post that there's alot of loose ends especially with the 2 father thing going on. So you saying it's a "incest scenario" is also wishful thinking, not to mention that this author like to pull stunts.

The topic is well avoided, how much do we really know about the story? You know it's an authors jobb to suprise the audience right? Why do you think there's alot of holes in stories with a twist? SO THEY CAN USE IT LATER. Looking at Japanese social standards and viewpoint, they were bound to cut that father off. It's both shameful and not to mention 2 timing :s Which father did what was never and she never mentioned if her father had the life condition or not so we're really in the dark here. We don't even know if the father that left was HER biological father since she had 2 fathers she lost, might has been like my father.

A none biological one that i think of as my own parent. He might gotten cut off and lived with the other family after he was found out took care of her and got the news his son got sick. I mean there's so many holes in the story, we can't safely assume just because the author is pointing it in that direction so early on. Because you're just swallowing the bait. Going ranting that shit is absolute and stuff like that is just stupid

Niki did not have two fathers. That's a fact. Talk to one of the translators. Hotaka *might* have two fathers. However, the only mention of two fathers was a work of fiction written by Hotaka, which is not been confirmed anywhere in the story.

It was also mentioned that Takemiya was interested in tackling taboos, like incest, in this story.

Certainly the author can have an ass-pull ending but it won't fit the story as it's laid out. Takemiya clearly laid out that two characters are related and the story would be tragic. Moving away from this plot would not fit the story. Surely you can grasp the concept of consistency.

Your twisted logic seems befitting the people who thought Linda and Banri would end up together - even though the story was clearly about Banri and Koko. Sad.

To be clear nowhere near did i imagine Linda and Banri would hook up, the shit wasn't laid that out that way emotionally they also made it pretty clear within his actions. Not missing facts and hush hushing like in this story since it revolves something japanese people hold dear. Accusation like that just proves how you're thinking. I'm just stating that there's to soon to tell and there's to little info to put a thing there certain.

Sure she wanted to venture into the taboo but just because she wanted doesn't mean it will be a biological incest no way near that. I'm not shipping anything, but the shit you're saying about your way of thinking is absolute. Is just meeeh PLOTTWIST exist and if its well developed shit might pull through. Niki lost her fathers/father twice as Hotaka (might) have 2 fathers. It's still to foggy to leave it out, as you know japanese people rather brush shit under the rugg than talk about it.

To put it blunt you're like one of the guys that reviews an anime or manga by just reading the 5 first chapters or watching the 2 first episodes then goes to a conclussion, that's just meeeh.

I mean just look at "Usagi Drop" after second half shit went apeshit, not saying it was good but still a clear example of assery stunts pulled in manga.

As I mentioned I'm not against or for the incest plot it's just tiresome when people are absolute about shit when the facts are just the surface of the plot.
We won't know until their families or atleast the kids talk with the parents about it because as mentioned they were cut off both sides (Because of Hotakas family). Also the rarely talk about the subject at home. The only one that has the right to say anything about the story is Takemiya, as for us we can only assume. But being rude to others while they discuss this matter is just meeeeeeeeeeeh we're 19 chapters in. We can only speculate to state anything of what little you have is just plain ignorant, that you cant see other possibilities is just sad.

I agree with Seither on this one (literally registered to discuss this topic lol). It's only chapter 19 and we've already been bombed so where do we go from here? Obviously clearing the dust and debris out of the way. We've got SO much speculation and SO few facts. How reliable is the conclusion of an emotionally compromised teenager? Not very.

So far the only fact we have is that neither one of them has a very clear idea of what's going on, so I'll only be convinced that they're related once we have an official story from an adult.

That said, I, personally, don't care about social stigmas like incest, so in the event I'm proven wrong and the story persists in that direction I'll still cheer them on hah, because if there's one absolute fact so far it's that this author couples MCs without fail (for now).

Niki said she lost her father twice. Her father left her and her mom (first time) - he said he would return. Before he could return, he died, leaving her a second time.

Hotaka NEVER mentions having a second father. He only mentions two dads in the fictional story he wrote. There has been no other evidence to corroborate Hotaka having two fathers, let alone Niki.

Niki wasn't emotionally compromised when she noticed that Hotaka was the spitting image of her father. It wasn't until after she confirmed his last name, that she realized Hotaka was her brother and then broke down.

Why do people assume incest? I never said it would end up incest. I think the issue we are dealing with is finding out the person you are in love with is your sibling and dealing with the fallout. I don't expect this story to become Koi Kaze.

You can conjecture that Niki and Hotaka aren't related but there's little evidence in the story to suggest this. All we have to go on is what has been presented in the story so far. I have no doubt that if Takemiya wants Niki and Hotaka to end up together, sans being half-siblings, Takemiya will do it. However, it wouldn't fit the story; not unless she starts to lay pipe for that alternative. As it stands it sounds like chapter 23 will be the last chapter. So if Takemiya is going undo everything, she has 2 chapter to do it in (chapter 21 continues the same story line).

You've done a fine job of insults, vulgarity, and personal attacks. Now perhaps you want to point out evidence in the story that supports the argument that Niki and Hotaka aren't related instead of resorting to ad hominem attacks.

To be fair you bluntly pretty much called everyone that didn't agree on your point an delusional because they don't blindly speculate around the "proof" in a fictional story, with an author like this. If Takemiya wants em to end up together, that will happen. The pipe for an alternative and the pipe for the alternative right now for another conclussion is the foggy backstory. There's alot that can be hidden I mean please hominem attack? Please reconsider how you write things if you dont want people to be vulgar against you, you pretty much insulted anyone that didnt think as you in your first post.

i dunno what to say about the whole incest love thing, whether it turns out to be true or not, the entire situation makes me kinda grossed out therefor having a very negative effect on my outlook of the manga. i can see why it stopped for so long though it was going really well before that happened. Takemiya is still my favorite writer but she needs to revive this fast.

Uhhh I'm new here, but just for this manga I decided to post something haha.

If they both had the same dad, does that mean his dad was pretty much seeing Niki's mom wayyyyy back when Hotaka was conceived? I mean, they're both in the same grade, so unless this was the case they couldn't be blood related, right?

Just my two cents, if that dad WAS two-timing the entire time then idk what I'll do... Nikie and Hotaka are so cute together...

Where does it say that it was a fictional story? I took that to be more of an editorial or opinion piece as opposed to a fictional story. There isn't really any story in it, it is all about his feelings and how he longs to find someone who can understand his suffering. That sounds more like a fact based essay than a work of fiction...

While those of us who believe in the "Two-fathers and therefore not siblings" theory are going based on what we have read in the story and taking it to be an accurate representation of the world. You seem to be reading things into the text that are not there, namely that what Niki read in the club newsletter was a fictional story that Hotaka wrote instead of being something true about his life.
