----------------------------------------
Maybe I'm reading too deeply into it but I couldn't help but think that the raven's words to Kraehe were revealing a probable outcome. He says that only himself and the prince can ever love her. Then he says there is "NO way" she will ever be loved so much that someone would give their own life for her. Even though she's done a lot of evil things I don't see her as being despised to the point nobody would love her. If that were the case Ahiru wouldn't continue tying to approach her as Rue. Just stopping at love would be enough to prove the raven wrong but it would be tragic if it would go so far as the death of one of the characters.

Fakir looked like he was going to take center stage for a bit but it turned out his role got eclipsed yet again. He seems to be running parallel with Rue in terms of what they've been able to accomplish solo. Rue was once again reminded by Mytho's snide remarks that he's the only one who can complete the task of getting a heart for her father. Likewise Fakir comes to realize how even though he managed to dodge fate and survive so far, he's practically powerless in protecting anyone. That's got to be a serious blow to his pride, especially after he told Ahiru to stay back and let him handle everything.

I wonder who the mystery guy was at the very end? It would seem he's directly responsible for the ghost knight incident. I have a feeling he's the same one that showed up briefly in the library window in episode 21 when Fakir was reading. Drosselmeyer seemed worried at the end about how things were progressing and even went so far as to lament not having Edel around so I'm not thinking it's him. It makes me think whoever this character is, he/she has got a lot of influence in how things will play out from here.

Fakir cried again :o

It's about time that someone actually tried to attack Tutu instead of just dancing with her

Why don't they ever show the duck bleeding?

And I was just wondering where those pieces of heart were. I really liked that the whole episode was like one big piece of music.

Fantastic episode. Each character is really beginning to break from their roles in the story, and that's reflected in the pacing. Touching backstory to the Ghost Knight as well, what with the forgiveness Tutu allowed him by mirroring his lover's pleads.

The feeling of pride, yet another piece of Mytho's missing heart. After the last one, the feeling of love was restored way back episode 13 it feels like (to me, at least) it took sometime to start questing again.
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.

I am somehow hoping for Ahiru to end up with Fakir.

I can't believe they have the time to do random school shit while Mytho is turning evil and their supposed enemy lives only a few blocks from them. Shouldn't they be actively trying to find a way to get that raven's blood out of his heart or at least try to neutralize Rue/Kraehe somehow?

Hmm Rue seems to be in quite the sticky situation. Only the prince and her father can love her but she has no control over what goes on in her life. She has to rely on Mytho's work in order to please her father, yet she can't affect the outcome at all.

I was thinking that the heart piece would have been the feeling of guilt, and that Mytho would feel guilty about being evil and working for Rue, but I guess not.

It looks like I've been replying to the wrong threads for the last four episodes, because I watch them back to back (DVD version). Well, shit.

Maybe I'm overthinking this (probably) but... It seems to me the second half of the story takes some of the elements of the first half and flips them over. For example, in the earliest episodes, Fakir was the one who seemed to be controlling Mytho. But now, it's Mytho who has the upper hand. Corrupted!Mytho, that is.

I could go on: Rue used to be eager to please Mytho, and now she's fighting for her dad's favor. Fakir couldn't stand Duck at first, but now he genuinely cares. Originally, Tutu's objective was to restore the Prince's heart and save him, piece by piece - now she has to save other people from Mytho.

But yeah, all that may be pushing it a little.

I think it's actually a fairly complex story, with characters who on the surface seem 2D but are actually fairly complex themselves. It's just taking time to develop.

Amazing episode, it was pretty emotional watching the development for Fakir towards the end of the episode.
Great Episode, Fakir is definitely the most interesting character in the anime.

If Fakir and Ahiru don't become end game, I'm gonna be really disappointed. Ahiru talks to Mytho as Princess Tutu but that's about it. Mytho says he loves her, just because Tutu helps put his heart back together. That's it. That's pretty much the summary of relationship. As Ahiru, Mytho doesn't even to speak to her about anything significant. Meanwhile, Ahiru and Fakir have a much better relationship with each other, as Ahiru helped change Fakir for the better and are ACTUALLY friends.

Also I feel bad for Rue, she had no say in her fate. She got kidnapped from her real parents and ended up doing her abusive raven father's dirty work. I hope she gets a happy ending because I really like her.

@LeeTailor It seems like the second part is going to flip things around. I don't want spoilers though, but that's just my theory. This anime is actually making me want to watch Revolutionary Girl Utena again, since both of them tend to do some flipping. Like Utena flipped a love triangle around with
In normal Shoujo, it's girls fighting over guys. In Utena,

Similar to what you said, Mytho was an innocent person, but now he's actively trying to hunt hearts. Rue was the evil one to beat, but now she's ultimately powerless. And the power dynamics are flipped, with only Princess Tutu remaining the same as far as power scaling goes. Mytho and Rue parallel Tutu and Fakir. Mytho/Tutu are the driving forces and get things moving, while Fakir and Rue ultimately don't have much sway.

The first story was a happy ending with Duck and Fakir rescuing the prince and returning the feeling of love to him. Now, returning the feeling of love to him is the worst thing they could've done. It flipped a happy ending to a tragic start.

@MoonPhos I think it's the fantasy story version of Utena. Utena flips the tropes of Shoujo, while this seems to be flipping the tropes of fairy tales. In most fairy tales that we've read as a kid, the reason the prince falls in love with the princess is generally for her looks and charm. Superficial things. This movie is honestly starting to remind me of Princess Bride. Not as far as plot goes, but in that they both make fun of fairy tales.

26 episode count. This Show Doesn't Miss! Seeing Raven Mytho at the end was crazy, I would scream too! I've thought for a while that Rue must not be the Raven's real daughter!! G-d this show is so amazing, I love how Ahiru and Fakir came together to free her from Drosselmeyer's lair, and their hug was so cute♡♡♡ Their joint defiance of Drosselmeyer's will 😍 truly a power couple lol. This also implies for me that there is the possibility to be more than Drosselmeyer's puppet.

And the thing with Uzura turning the story back was such an interesting and clever idea! The only thing I'm wondering is why didn't it help Mytho turn back to a time where his heart was less affected by Raven's blood. I guess it didn't really change anyone's physical state. I was so so happy to see Edel again 💖 she's one of my favorites and it was nice that she got to see her "new self" that's implied to have a heart just like she wanted :).
