eureka seven 2nd season

i heard 2nd season of eureka seven is crappy as hell and it focus on the child of 2 MCs from 1st season, therfore these 2 characters are just supporting ones in the sequeel, so i wanted to ask if i have to watch 2nd season to get closure on the story of these two MCs from 1st season? as in 2nd season nothing interesting happens to them and if they ended up with happy ending in 1st season they stayed happy at the end of the 2nd one? i know wrong subforum, but i i expect faster answer here, if necessary mod will just move this thread
