In Symphonia, young heroes pick a job path that will lead them down the path to becoming a hero.
Starting Jobs
These Jobs are available to all heroes and are the base class for their future. Once a hero reaches the rank of Guardian, they can move into the next stage of their job. Heroes may change jobs of the same class.
Warrior: Fighter Based Class. Uses swords, axes and shields. Not to be confused with Warrior (Race).
Monk: Fighter Based Class. Uses martial arts, claws, staffs.
White Mage: Magic Based Class. Uses healing magic and holy magic.
Black Mage: Magic Based Class. Uses elemental magic (fire, thunder, water, ice, etc.) to cast powerful attacks from distance and cause area damage.
Red Mage: Magic Based Class. Uses magic to enhance physical attacks. Can also use Elemental Magic to strengthen his physical attacks.
Thief: Tech Based Class. Uses guns, daggers and other technological weaponry along with short blades. Masters of deception.
Sharpshooter: Tech Based Class. Uses small guns such as revolvers and pistols to unleash a barrage of quick attacks at enemies.
Advanced Jobs
For heroes who achieve the rank of Guardian and set out on their journey to become to True Heroes in their chosen element: Heroes may change jobs of the same class.
Ranger: Long/medium range Fighter Based Class that evolves from the Warrior and is based on using bows and crossbows from long distances.
Knight: Close combat Fighter Based Class that evolves from the Warrior. It is based on using close-combat weapons such as swords, spears, axes, hammers and shields.
Scholar: Supportive Magic Based Class that evolves from the White Mage. Can cast complex Holy Magic( heals "alive" targets and damages cryptid targets).
Geomancer: Powerful Magic Based Class that evolves from the Black Mage. Can cast powerful Elemental Magic and cause massive area damage.
BattleMage: Versatile Magic Based Class that evolves from the Red Mage. Can enhance physical attacks with Elemental Magic to cause greater damage against single targets. Can also enhance defense to sustain bigger ammounts of damage or heavy attacks.
Martial Artist: Strong bruiser, Fighter Based Class, that evolves from the Monk. Can master one of the Monk's weapons(Claws, Staves or Martial Arts) to gain bonus damage with the weapon as well as special abillities.
Ninja: Stealthy Tech Based Class that uses daggers and technological assets to gain advantage in combat. Can use objects like the Camouflage Cloak, Smoke Bomb, Flash Grenade, Explosives, Gas Grenades and etc.
Sniper: Extremely long range Tech Based Class evolved from the Sharpshooter that uses large tech weapons from afar to cause massive damage. Can use Sniper Rifles only and can equip the Rifle with certain runes to gain bonuses, such as Armor Penetration, Damage or Detection( can detect enemies easier ).
Legendary Classes
Rare classes that are awarded to true heroes. A true hero has the control of their element and can freely switch between jobs of the same class.
Master: A Fighter Based Class, Making their fists as hard as steel and kicks as swift as a gale, the Master is a teacher and a destroyer. Preaching peace and violence at the same, a living paradox but one thing is for sure, they wield a power that makes them feared by all
Dragoon: A Fighter Based Class, based on the wind element, that wields spears or swords and can be evolved from the Knight. Is a tanky bruiser that fights on the head of the army. Master the Knight Job while using a spear or a sword to achieve this Job.
Viking: A Fighter Based Class, based on either earth or water element, that double wields axes and can cause massive damage the less life he has. Like a bezerk, these men are like to live in the edge of life and like the danger that is pressed upon them. Master the Knight Job while using an axe to achieve this Job.
Guardian: A Fighter Based Class, based on earth element, that uses giant shields made out of durable materieals to protect their allies and themselves. They are usually in the frontlines and are highly regarded by the allies that fight alongside them. Invaluable in a battle due to their abillity to take damage. Evolved from the Knight, if you have mastered it while using a shield.
Evoker: A Magic Based Class that uses other beasts to battle. They are powerful mages that are able of using second class spells along with using their own "pets" to destroy their enemies. They have a certain limit to how many creatures they can invoke, however. Evolved from Battle Mage or Scholar.
Bard: A supportive Magic Based Class Job that revolves around healing allies as well as giving them bonuses for offense and defense. Bards use the sound of their music to enhance nearby allies. Evolved from Scholar.
Black Magister: A Magic Based Class Job that, like it's predescessor, revolves around causing massive area damage with high-classed spells. Evolved from either Geomancer or Battle Mage.
Assassin: Tech Based Class Job evolved from the Ninja. Masters of killing while stealthed, these masters of darkness can now become invisible during combat. They now also have a few other toys to bring into combat, such as the Decoy, Invisibillity Cloak, Intangibility Core and many others.
Specialist: Long range Tech Based Class job evolved from the Sniper. Now allows the user to apply more runes into his gun and also gives him the possibility of using the same assets that the Assassin uses. They can now become invisible and hide before their target arrives. Unlike the Assassin, however, he cannot attack while invisible. Evolved from the Sniper.
Holy Jobs
The final classes of the hero, with the power to slay a God. These heroes have dedicated years to fighting for good and the goddess Gaia has gifted them with powers unimaginable before
Devout: Master of Holy Magic, ultimate Magic Based Class. Can now cast extremely powerful Holy Magic to both heal( the living ) and cause massive damage( against the dead ). Complete a Quest for Goddess Gaia as a Bard to receive this Job as a bonus.
Magnus: The Master of Elemental Magic, ultimate Magic Based Class. The strongest wielder of Elemental Magic can cause massive damage on gigantic areas. Must Master all classes evolving from the Black or Red Mage and help God Zeleith in his time of need.
Summoner: Master of all Creatures, ultimate Magic Based Class. Can invoke multiple creatures at the same time and can uphold them with ease due to the ammount of power wielded. Must master all jobs evolving from the White or Red Mage and defeat Lucifer once in combat as an Evoker.
Black Raven: The best and strongest Assassin, ultimate Tech Based Class. Can use absolutely any kind of technological item to gain advantage in combat. Must master all jobs evolved from the Thief and defeat the Void Guardian on combat as an Assassin.
Shadow: If you find a body and apparently not even a single trail of what just happened, it is obviously the work of a Shadow, an ultimate Tech Based Class that uses weapons from an absurd range and is able to easily take down enemies. Must master all jobs evolving from the Sharpshooter and defeat the Guardian of the Realm of Creation as a Specialist.
Onion Knight: Protectors of Symphonia, an ultimate Fighter Based Class that was chosen by Gaia herself. These soldiers can range from shield to spear users and are considered the guardians of Symphonia. Must master one line of job evolved from the Warrior and prove yourself before Gaia as an important Hero.
Maha-thera: The Leader of the Monk shrine and guide of the lost monks throughout the world who are still searching their home, an ultimate Fighter Based Class that grew up in his own religion. Extremely powerful bruisers that can be found on the battlefield. They fight for their own religious reasons and always push aside selfish reasons. Must master all jobs evolved from the Monk and defeat the Leader of the Corrupted Archangels on the Realm of Creation.
HOW DO YOU EVOLVE AND HOW DO YOU SWITCH PATHS?
Evolving along your path requires you to complete certain missions for your path and reaching a certain rank. Every quest given by the Gods is a chance to level up along your path. Once your hero is deemed worthy, the Elders of their path shall notify them of their path evolution
Switching paths is simple but complex. To switch from one path to the other requires to be close to evolution to that job. Once a hero masters one job they have the choice of continuing along the path they have chosen or to choose the beginning job of a new path. While this is time consuming, the greatest rewards shall be given to those who master all of the paths
Doing your stats:
Stats: You have 300 to use at the beginning. You get 175 points when you go one path up
Strength: Dictates Heavy Melee Weapon and Unarmed damage and also gives the user bonusses for heavy armor. Very important for Warriors.
Dexterity: Dictates Small Gun damage, Small Melee Weapon damage. Very important for Tech Users.
Willpower: Dictates the ammount of stamina/mana one possess. The higher is this stat, the more you can use your active abillities. It also increases Spell damage and gives a bonus for healing skills. Very important for Mages.
Constitution: Dictates how much damage one can take before falling down and the ammount of weight one can carry. Also gives bonusses to Regen and percentage of Healing received.
Agillity: Dictates and movement and sprinting speed as well as increases dodging melee attacks. Also gives a bonus to light armor.
Perception: Dictates accuracy and the abillity to detect hidden enemies. Also gives a bonus to Critical Chance( each 5 Perception adds 1% Crit chance ). |
