A few years back, it was pretty much impossible to find -anything- about Crush Gear Turbo on the net, besides the odd mention here and there - now, after Germany got a dub, and after the English dub that aired in Australia was "rediscovered" (I don't know how else to call this, I mean, that version was seemingly forgotten or something!), there's at least a bit more to find about it online...

Well then, let's start a discussion, huh? Let's see...

The first time I've ever heard the name "Crush Gear" must've been at the Anime Intro Archive (site with OP/ED videos in low-quality "postage stamp size" as I liked to call them), but I didn't really pay attention to it at all... Next up was when the show was announced to be aired over here in Germany (Tele 5, October 2004, together with Medabots) - finally something that wasn't already hacked up by...certain companies in the US, and - while not exactly original - the premise sounded interesting enough.

Then the day of the first episode came and, despite being a bit skeptical, I really liked it. Really catchy opening - based on the original CRUSH GEAR FIGHT!!, but with different lyrics and stuff -, believable characters and story (...until we got to things like the Shining Sword Breaker, but you just have to disregard that with "It's anime" or something, it's not supposed to make sense)...

...to cut this short (sorry, I tend to ramble on :P), what do you all think of the show? When did you first hear about or see it, and where? Ever seen any other dubs (Japanese, English, German, whatever else there may be)?

I know that this show has been dubbed in Malay in the country I live which is Malaysia.
I know there;s a lot of hype when the show started but when it ended, it all died down so it's hard to find anyone that knows about it now.

By the way, if I remember correctly, It was your Crush Gear Turbo Fansub Test on the Zelda Coalition Forums that lead me to making my karaoke videos on YouTube.

I remember watching this when I was 12, they used to have the english dub on CheezTV (a kids program here in australia which shows anime and cartoons) at 730am to 8am every friday morning. The dub was actually quite good from memory and everyone at school got hyped about it. I was soooo pissed when I missed the last 2 eps.

Anyway the other day I was looking in an old box and found my collection of the official toys of them which you put batteries in and they spin around the place, they are sooo awesome!

This was like my childhood favourite show, even if I watched it with Cantonese subs, it was amazing.

I even had many Crush Gear cars and an entire toolbox set with extra parts and motors to build/repair a car.

Those were the days.....If anyone has a definite sub or dub for the whole show I wouldn't mind. I have the Cantonese dubbed and subbed version up to the world cup stadium, and also Ark Cavalier double VCD shows about him going into the "Destroy" version of the Crush Gear fights, to the ones when there was Dark Garuda Eagle used to destroy other cars.

If anyone has the full set of subs in normal quality, please don't hesitate to upload them! :D

I used to watch this show all the time when it was airing on TV here in New Zealand. I would always be hyped every morning (at least I think it aired in the morning) to watch an episode. I have Volume 1 and 5 on DVD too, which I've watched often.

I used to watched this on TV in Philippines over 10 years ago. It was Filipino dubbed as far as I can remember.

I broke most of my Crush Gears due to copying the moves from the anime. :'(

SO MUCH NOSTALGIA.

I was a fricking huge fan of this show back in like 2005 or something. Cheez TV reperesent over here too wooooooot! I loved this show to death. I had the kendo dude's(?) Crush Gear, wish I still had it. I remember the OST was pretty cool, especially the opening song and especially the Japanese version.

Brings so much childhood memories. I remember I'm always on the watch and excited for the new episodes each day after school. Some of the best bits in the show were the throwing sequences.

And to add, we had a Gaiki (green variant), a Garuda Eagle, and a Gougetsu Reishiki. They were thrown away as they were already broke, so too bad. Would've been great had they were kept despite their condition and thought the same myself. But still, those were the fun times when we still have them.

ehh... b-daman takes the cake than crush gear... i remember playing this and still exciting and you can actually fight iwth it (which become bad bull fight), B-daman? it was banned in my school because someone hurt their eyeball...

Friggin loved the show to bits since young. The toys sucked as compared to what they were in the show but damn the graphics were amazing for their time. I even made an OST medley of my favorite Crush Gear OSTs on youtube a few years back.

I'm just here for a wave of nostalgia. I don't remember anything about what happens in the series but I know that I used to like this back in the day. I think I was 4 or 5 when I saw this on TV. Good ol days.

About 10 12 years back it aired as a hindi dub version on a local channel here un India and it is most probably one of the earliest anime i saw much before i even knew what anime are...
