| This is a one-shot manga right? Why does it say the series is still publishing. Just wondering I'm pretty sure one-shot mangas are intended to only have one chapter. And its been some time now and no chapters was released. It was really meant to be a single-chapter series. |
| They call it a one-shot, but that's because it's technically a pilot chapter. If you don't know what a "pilot" is... it basically means it's a prototype for the series. Most series have a pilot episode/chapter... it's essentially just a test to see if the premise has positive feedback, mainly so the publishers can see how much promise it will have. I'm sure there's a much more complex definition... but there's my simple one. Also, for further confirmation, just look at the last page where it says: "On sale on May 24th in Sunday S's July edition, "Monster x Monster" begins serialization!! Look forward to the story of the monsters (beasts) and the monster (Niito)!!" |
| Even if there is a serialization, this so called pilot chapter is still considered a one-shot. Almost every time, when a new series is serialized after a one-shot, the mangaka changes the first chapter a bit, usually for the better after lots of feedback. |
