Added a wxPython mockup of the interface to the download section. I need some testing with it. Please try to run it on your platform (requires wxPython) and post a screen so I can get a sense if I'm moving in the right direction.

Ps. And yes, the tree view will look a bit messed up on all platforms.

Thanks, you two. So on Kde it seems you have to play around with the Gtk theming to make it look nice. Now I'd like to see an OS X, XP and Vista pic to get a conclusion.

Thanks there again. You are right, booting into XP is quite hideous ^_^ Hm, for the technical point. Seems the left border is a bit out of place on xp, and so is the status text. And everything is awfully small, but I think we can put in some conditional hooks to fix the last two issues. Not sure about the border though, but should be fixable.

edit: The text size is probably even a system setting, leaves the status bar and the left border.

i tried installing qt-gtk-engine and chaning to Qt in gtk styles but then none of gtk applications worked any more. your file gave me "Floating point exception". If i change style to Raleigh (whatever that is) then the only thing that changes is that it picks up my custom fonts i set in KDE but for the rest of the interface its the same.

edit: curious, what exactly is wrong with qt border in xp?

Further analyzing it the border looks OK. Also with a bit of placement the lists should also look reasonably. Implementing the list controls should provide interesting (right now the mockup only uses text, that's why the progressbar is not presen). It's not QT, it's wxWidgets. In theory it should just use the native wigets on most platforms, except on KDE, as it sadly doesn't have a QT port. For the next mockup I'll add the note to make a screen with something like an editor or explorer near the mockup to have some comparison basis. Was thinking about it too late -.-

I didn't know Leopard ships with wx! The mockup should run on vanilla OS X without installing anything :)

(yes, I'm too lazy to change the default background)
