Ehm, actually its somewhat similar in the begining - after finishing the first part (which kinda helps you learning how to play) in game you are the last survival of your Clan and your main idea is to slay that woman who killed master. The journey of mc in anime will be bit different of'course - they can't make it same as all quests in game, but main elements seem to be same (the back story of her master's death, she got into other village). Plus if you played the game you should know the girl on the poster behind main character... So, to TS - its more like a adaptation of the game, but not a very close one. mugi said: It's basically a promo for the game. Even human civilizations expire at some point. I don't know what's the point of "saving the genre" when it's obvious that it's pointless and out of the question. Have to agree with this. For normal gamers and alike, which comprise roughly 90% of the population, they rate the game solely because of the game content. They are also attracted to the game by its contents, that is Battle (perhaps Gameplay) and Graphics (perhaps UX,UI). The rest are just "outlying" or secondary factors. If you think the community, etc. comes before Gameplay, Plot, Sound, Graphics, then I suggest you reconsider playing any video game at all. And you think these people need to be a critic to play and rate the game then you're gravely mistaken. Most of the time, they won't turn to a "critic" unless something "bad" happened. Sadly, I have the same share of thoughts on the game. Though I like all those voluptuous curves shaking and its good graphics, the game gives me the feeling of a "generic" MMORPG. I don't think it deserve an anime adaptation/promo. You tried so hard to sound intelligent, but in doing so you butchered the English language and took a massive shit on grammar. FWIW this entire post is wrong since the most actively played online game after League of Legends (terrible graphics, isometric view, old school controls) is World of Warcraft (terrible graphics, engine from 2004, stale mechanics). | Im Hungarian (Central Europe) and even i played the game till lvl 40 (got bored). I've made a destroyer, and it was fun at the begining, but other than "raid" bosses you can just spin all the way on the map with 1-2 auto attack then count how many died. Combat is bad in that game, actually it is shit. Up to the lvl i reached you can get anything effortless, and as i've heard in the guild i was in, it won't be much harder later on. Crafting is a joke as well, so what you can do is running around like an idiot hunting dudes in another faction's Tobok, or do duels. Which is amazing with the shit combat. My conclusion was, when i abandoned the game. Boobs&Ass would be a much better name, cause it's all it can offer. Oh wait no, it offers loli girls with tail and cat (or whatever) ears, in case boobs and ass isn't what you like. The anime might be a little better, still, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone else besides players of the game. And yes this is a commerical anime, since the game isn't released in Japan yet. But to be honest, i don't think that, an anime of this caliber could create any hype for the game. If NcSoft learned from their past fails such as Aion they won't even try to bring it to Europe. Relation between the game and the anime:characters, "story", environment, boobs andlast but not least, ass. |

Being a role playing game the only actually important thing is how it lets the player (the person) role play his/her character. OFC it's BASICALLY just graphics and battle, or if you prefer, don't call it "battle", call it INTERRACTION with other players. I don't even believe there are "bad" mmorpgs.... in the end it only matters what you like to roleplay. If you expect a game that can make EVERYONE happy with ALL the possible choices, you are definitely wrong, it is physically impossible. What is clear just from taking a general look at the mmorpgs running nowadays you see that the only thing different about them is the setting. I HIGHLY doubt that Blade & Soul was seriously thought to have an impact on a largest possible player base.... only if you consider the somewhat "different" character appearance. And if you understand this, you will also understand that different games and publishing companies attract different kinds of players. What happens in the FUTURE, after the game is launched, depends only on the player base and the way they feel about the game and the adjustments that the developing team and the publishing theam are able/willing to operate. But there is a clear difference between just the game and the "multiplayer" side of it, which results in a dynamic, unstable evolution and i doubt you can evaluate it out of the context, like you do now. Clear example: Aion, worked fine in Korea and even North America, but sucked balls in Europe, can you actually say it was a bad game because of this? Can you say Aion is a failed game because its economy on Europe sucks so much its barely playable ? Other case study: GW2's fail. I don't even think I have to say this. This so called "mmorpg" wanted to deny its basic nature and wanted to eliminate roleplaying by not imposing parties to invite certain specific classes... which in the end made it absurd and boring as nobody was feeling motivated to play. But I don't take this as similar to Aion's case, because this was an intended feature of the game. Brainless from my point of view. I played quite a lot of MMORPGS, for more than a decade now. I've come from nolifer to casual player as my life changed. What keeps me in a game now? Exactly graphics and battle. I like to customize as many things as possible and I log in to fight other people. I don't stress about money, economy, kids calling me noob and the number of player in the enemy faction (in fact i prefer when there's an unbalance so i can play the underdog and get as many opponents as possible). etc. These things are never perfect, but I really don't care: I care for a bad ass looking character, cool environment and good fighting system. Anyways, the show has nothing to do with the multiplayer part of the game..... obviously. Saying the anime sucks because the game has a shitty community is your mistake, totally invalid argument. That's why I said you missed the point. |

I never said the anime sucks because of the game being shit. And about B&S, it has the most obnoxious weapon upgrade system I've seen in my whole life. I'm not sure if you actually played B&S, but I tell you, you have to be no-lifer (to grind game gold) or cannot compete without real cash (for buying game gold). Oh sorrry if it was my mistake xD In fact I know close to nothing about the game itself as it never got released in NA or EU >.< Which I totally hate because I was waiting for it for already too many years. I just tried it for a few hours ona buggy private server as I was too curious but too many bugs made it impossible. Didn't know anything about weapon upgrades/enchants, but I suppose i understand what you mean. And indeed, spending some cash now for me isnt really a problem but not for important stuff like weapon upgrades since well... the weapon is the most important thing after all. And farming.... korean grind, no ty. Most people I heard complain that there is not enough content lol and also I had many other saying the characters looked way too weird xD Needless to say llong legs dressed with asian style was my main reason for wanting to play... that and the cool jumps I hoped so much I would try one day xD Life is cruel. However, I didn't get any of these "vibes" from the show. I was expecting more action that could fit the stuff I saw in the game's trailers and gameplays. I am pretty mad about it, it could have been so awesome. |

| Most B&S watchers like me can't say since NCSoft refuses to port the game over the Europe and America. As an MMO player myself I can say all of these "all MMO's are shit" opinions are pretty thin unless they've played MMOs since Ultima. |

When they finally manage to bring the game to the West and be done with the betas and stuff, what could have been good and trending back then won't be anything special.
