Everyone here can show their progress in learning Korean! You can set your goals and try to complete them. I hope that it will motivate you a little to learn ^_^ |

Oh, we don't even have dictionaries or phrase books on book shelves. Well, there is one grammar book written in Polish available to buy from the Internet but people say that it's the worst choice. That's why the only way is to buy books from abroad. T_T |

Ooh, I bought a book yesterday, "Teach Yourself Korean". I've read the introduction and now I'm gonna start the first unit. It has one big flaw though - a lot of the stuff is romanized e__e Although sometimes it is helpful. But I suppose that it is one of the best Korean learning books out there. :/ |

But do you have sencentes romanized AND in Hangul? One guy once told me that the best thing to do with a book like that is to ink out all romanization. |

romanization is so confusing because no one knows how to romanize Hangul correctly XD |

Yeah, romanization...at first I thought it was useful but every time I can see it more clearly; you've just got to force yourself to read in hangul. xD My problem now is that because I haven't got any CDs or listening material, I don't know if I'm pronuncing it right or not, but the pages posted in the "Useful Sites" topic are helping! So far I've got a "Basic Korean" book which I haven't got very far with, sadly, and a korean to english dictionary, which is very cool, and I'm using that to try and translate songs by korean bands I like. It's good for getting new vocabulary. :) |

So I've gotten past lesson one and two in my Teach Yourself Korean book. Now I know how to say "I'm also going to the town center to buy some bread" and "I'm not a Korean teacher" in Korean. Okay, and some other stuff too, but I hate learning basics D: I've already read through the whole book, can't remember much, though. |

I have basic hangeul down pat. I get confused with all the W hangeul though. At least they're not as commonly used... My basic basic conversation is all right and most Koreans seem to understand me okay when I talk, but my grammar and vocab needs a lot of work. |

Learning Korean now for only 5-6 months. Basics are already in but i am getting confused with the informal writing of verbs I don't get that probably cuz most of the verbs seem to be irregular verbs or it just might be me LMAO |
