Three new seasons for "Mysterious Cities of Gold" as been anonce in France, co-producer of the first one with Japan. There should be the same directors, and the new series will have a updated animation and design.
Badly, it don't seem to have any article in english, so here is a link to the french article.

This was announced a few years ago..so does that mean it's already out and I don't know about it? or are they like on hiatus in the making..hmm. Either way can't wait :D

It's not supposed to air before 2011. But don't hold your breath, it's going to air on TF1 in French and I don't see anything about a Japanese or Worldwide release in the article.

I have read that it's been pushed back from the original date of 2011 to 2012 with 26 episodes. Not much has been said as of yet. Looking forward to it :)

I can't believe that first season's mean score is 7.73 on MAL when it's 9.30 on IMDb and the top rated anime title in the same time.
I definitely have superpowers. I can feel it in my balls.

Completely different audiences. Here are mostly people from 14 - 22 that have watched a number of different anime. From looking at the IMDb reviews, most rating MCOG are people that saw this show when they were kids in the 80s (as I did). Those at IMDb are comparing it to other cartoons on at the time like Inspector Gadget, Duck Tales, Voltron, and Alvin and the Chipmunks. Here, it is compared to Death Note, TTGL, LoGH, or other great anime series.

I remember this series quite clearly, my childhood.
I read the reboot will no longer have Japanese staff involved, is done only by a French studio.

It won't be out before 2013 finally. Sad that Chalopin failed at bringing together the old team and producer (NHK & Mitsuru Kaneko). I'm not sure I like the new animation / art. But we'll see.
No news about the movie yet. But it still planned.

I sometime have funky grammar, sorry about that. If you can correct some of my post, you would be an angel.

It started airing on 17.11.2012 and will have 26 episodes.
Trying to watch all available anime series so you won't have to anymore, the list of anime I can recommend is still in progress, tho
