Mm, the atmosphere of this episode is kinda moody for me.

Some of the action and soundtrack were nice though. Go Yogi :3 Gareki pretty badass as well. Damn, I was hoping to see Tsukumo more though.

Ouch, that hit on the arm looked pretty brutal.

I don't think that flashback with grown up them are added (not in the manga)?

Yogi vs. Yotaka. I thought that it's another person who killed Yotaka, and not him... Are they going to different direction?

The sword/spear which stab Yotaka is thrown from the sky, I assume Hirato is the one who did it which is the same thing that happened in the manga.

Great episode, it had a different atmosphere from the previous episodes. Yogi did pretty good even after he was injured and Gareki got a good hit in as well, though he was later blocked with ease.

Yotaka ;__;

At the beginning when he was licking the blood off his fingers...I shivered because that's so gross. I don't remember feeling that way when I read it lol. Pretty dark episode this week, it's unfortunate that Yotaka died without knowing that Gareki doesn't hate him. That damn varuga destroying poor Tsubame's family. I loved the conversation between Nai and Tsubame, that was heartwarming.

VARUUUUGA!
That was Gareki's shout at one point.

A little mushy mushy at the end but I still enjoyed this episode.

Meh, this episode felt bland to me. I haven't read the manga so I have no emotional attachment to the twins and as such the fight was just boring to me. All in all I feel this anime suffers from the same thing as Devil Survivor 2, having too many characters in a short show and not being able to give them enough screen time to introduce them properly before firing tragedy arrows at them.

I hope next time we return to whatever "main plot" the series has since we've now seen Gareki's background.

Ugh...Although this ep is its best yet, I hate this series so much that I don't feel anything.

Nai is still stupid and clueless. That needs to change.

The feeelllsss ;-; poor Gareki!

This was a pretty interesting episode. I liked the Yogi-action with the whole thorn-cage it was cool ^.^ and Nai encouraging Tsubame was cute as well

The pacing of this episode was pretty slow for me, just a lot of Gareki telling Nai to go back, then fighting between Yogi and Yotaka, then more flashbacks... ~.~

Yeah it really does! But i kinda like the shock it leaves.

I'm just about to cry, and i'm trying to interpret what just happened and how to feel about it. Then all of sudden "Be my reason!" Totally ruins the mood but it's fun at the same time! XD

But overall i Think this has been the most confusing episode. I haven't read the manga, so the plot and stories are still a bit blurry to me. I liked that Gareki didn't really get a closure though! Leaves it open, and it made the mood more Deep when he didn't really make up with the Twins!

I'll stay strong for another week!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

I got to admit, this anime is really portraying the series WAY BETTER than the manga did :'|
Reading all about the Varuga and about Circus is hard for me since there is so much content, watching it in anime form seems easier to comprehend.
I guess if you found this episode boring, you'd find the manga 10x more boring (since it starts off real slow till vol 6-ish).

But I guess it's because the anime just made the scenes in Eps 5 way more effective than in black n white...

Good episode with some decent action and music. Seems like there are many experiments that Varuga are carrying out. The Yotaka and Tsubame scene was done nicely and I wonder how they are going to react when they see that Hirato finished it off!?

Looking forward to the next episode!!

5/5

Not a bad ep, but really the two MC's are just so weak atm, and unless a S2 is lined up I just don't see how this won't be rushed. I'm guessing the girl will tag along with them, will be neat to see how that plays out, maybe I should take a look at the manga at some point.

i really liked this episode, especially this dark atmosphere and the bloody scenes. and i also have to admit i have a soft spot for siblings with a rather dysfunctional and/or dramatic relationship. i would've loved to see more scenes with these two siblings. well, hopefully i'll get to see more bro moments between nai and tsubame!

it still doesn't feel like a proper anime, more like they were trying to animate random scenes and random characters from the manga, but nevertheless i'm still enjoying it.

Wow, shit got serious with this episode. I'm liking this anime so far.
The Yotaka guy has been around for only 2 episodes or so, which is very little to make me care about him, but I certainly know I'd prefer Nai to die instead of him.
The ED though... I'm gonna skip it next time, 'cause I can't get it outta my head for the next two days after I hear it.
The only thing you can rely on is that you can't rely on anything.

Didn't expect such a sad episode D: not that it wasn't good, just caught me off guard.

I find myself wondering though, does Nai actually DO anything any time soon? Despite being the main character he seems to have had little to no character development so far and has been nothing but a hindrance to everyone else every episode.

I guess I just wish the story was progressing a bit faster.

This show for some reason can't keep it's consistency. I don't know if it's just different writers or what it is, but the episodes just keep alternating between good and just okay.

In comparison with the dry episode of last week, this one was really good in showing Gareki's past, his relationship with his family, and giving each scene a very emotional punch from beginning to end.

I did feel the real villain in the end was pretty tacked on and cliche, but every other part of it was good. Nai was cute again in it, his simple innocence as an animal shining through.

However the leader guy stepping in at the last moment was unexpected. I wanted to know why he was there and why he is so cold about killing the poor kid. This is probably going to put more friction between him and Gareki.

I give this episode a 8/10. This was very good, but I have a feeling, by it's track record, the next episode will be blah again....

It's a good episode - the last part was heartbreaking and I just have a lot of feeling toward character death. I just wish the pace would hurry a bit in the future.

Trying to resist reading the manga is hard @__@ I want to finish watching the anime first but I'm so curious about what happens next.

Felt a lot of mixed emotions watching this because although some people are complaining on how there's just way too many flashbacks instead of plot progression, I think it's important for us as viewers to understand each character better and this certainly revealed a lot about Gaeki! I don't think that they could have gives us more hints about Gaeki or learn how to understand him more without seeing his past since he's always talking about being "filthy" and stuff...

I actually shed a tear despite knowing what would happen at the end of this episode...but it was a manly tear. Even though I'm a woman. Okay, that makes no sense at all xD

I know right...This is really bothering me too, haha. He's always that one character that's told to run away or keep away when a situation is extremely dangerous since he can't do anything to protect himself but he stubbornly stays and almost always gets himself killed only to be rescued by someone last second.

I mean I've seen anime characters like this who (are not human, haha just kidding) strangely enough don't appear to be afraid of death and are constantly acting without considering oh let's say..THE CONSEQUENCES! *cough cough* DEATH. But yeah, Nai really is getting irritating. If he insists so much on staying to help...he might actually want to be of some help rather than causing more trouble.

I'm not trying to bash Nai or anything, trust me, I freaking love him (he's so adorable! * ^ *) but I really hope he does become a stronger character that doesn't need to rely on others so much. I guess what I want to see him become is a more independent person who HOPEFULLY also grows a little taller cause you know I feel kind of creepy always thinking how adorable he is. I feel like a pedophile, lol. BUT he might actually be like 100+ years old or something and just stuck in a little boy's body (sound familiar?). Now I'm actually kind of crossing my fingers and hoping he's actually less than 100 because then I"d feel even creepier...

Also kindddd of off topic but:

I noticed how many albinos I'm eventually going to end up having on my favorite character's list. Sheesh, what's up with all these white-haired bishes nowadays? We've got them in so many animes: that one guy (bad with names xD) from K with the umbrella, Nai from Karnival, Shion from No. 6, Near from Death Note, Akise from Mirai Niki, Allen Walker from D Gray Man...and the LIST GOES ON!

How am I supposed to explain to my friends this list? lol 1/2 of them just so happen to be albinos...nothing to see here...carry on xD Yeah I'm losing my friends.
