I really loved the story and cast in Girl Friends. After I read the translations, I went and ordered the original Japanese releases to support it. Also have the US release on preorder from Amazon as well. ^_^

That's awesome ^ ^ I got the french releases as I'm meant to be continuing classes for french soon ^ ^ although since I'm not 100% fluent (and more like 5 to 10% XD; ) I'm wayy happier to be able to get the English release soon >w<

Yeah it's better reading it as a book instead of reading over the internet, even thought I already got it at my computer.

Anyway how is the english translating for it?

Did anyone receive their copy of the english release? I got mine today and noticed something really odd about it. The manga isn't shaped like a regular manga, (rectangular). iMy volume came in more like a mishapen triangle. I dunno if they designed it this way, or if the first printing has issue but due to this, a lot of text is actually cut-off within the manga itself. O_o

My volume is shaped liked a regular manga volume. Could you post a picture? As for the translation, I don't like how neechan and obaachan are still in Japanese. Sis and grandma work fine, especially when they already use mom instead of the Japanese equivalent.

I wish I had taken pictures of it, really should have. Amazon was very quick to take it back and send me a replacement so I had packed it back up and had it off to UPS before I thought about it.

Translation wise, I only browsed through it to compare how the fan translation is. Seems pretty accurate when directly compared to the Japanese editions. I was directly comparing the translations to the Japanese editions. I"m kinda glad to see my Japanese reading hasnt completely gone away hehe.

Got my copy in the mail today and it is shaped like a normal manga volume. I did get an e-mail about a week ago saying that there had been a delay in the release, so maybe the wonky shaping had something to do with that.

I got my copy of this amazing manga on Monday when I went to Barnes & Noble. I was pretty lucky too because there was only one copy of Girl Friends on the shelf. ;w;

Btw, if I remember correctly, Seven Seas is also planning on releasing Morinaga-sensei's Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakura Iro.

I agree that the translation seems pretty accurate too, although of course they've adjusted some things to fit better for an english adaption but for the most part I think that's worked well ^ ^

I was a little upset at one part though; (spoiler?) The scene where Mari skips school, in the fan translation I read it said something along the lines of "I regret not going to school today.." "Because now I wish I had" but in the English release the 2nd half says "I miss you.." and I guess that could still work, but for some reason I feel the fan translation had more effect? Not plainly stating her feelings but hinting it added more depth for me? I don't know XD; That's just me.

I think it is confirmed that they will be releasing Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakura Iro, from my research is seems to be so, it looks like it's going to be released sometime in June next year in one complete Omnibus, well that's what they're planning anyways.

I'm really happy to see that Girl Friends is selling, and hopefully Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakura Iro will sell well also (Which I think it will~) Because then we might be able to look forward to some more yuri manga english releases in the future~! Which will be awesome >w<

I doubt they will. Nothing looks censored in the first volume. It's labelled as a 16+ manga.

I don't think I've ever seen a censored manga, even in the more popular stuff like Naruto and One Piece. Considering the audience and the kind of release this is getting, it would be a horrible idea and like a slap in the face to fans if they edited that at all.
