----------------------------------------

Well slow episode of sorts as they nearly and crossed the Helipause and had a sort of Crossing ceremony and sent well wishes and communications back to Earth. I liked how we got to see a different and emotional side to lots of the crew, Daisuke's made me tear up, while learning more on Kodai was good. Intriguing things for Nimi.

On another note it feels like its time to start kicking shipping into gear with Kodai have lots of people interested in him, and then Nimi and two dudes, Nanbu and one girl...if only I could have Kodai Daisuke...

Ah and as usual the "display" pic.

Where did you find the 7th episode? With subtitles?

I'm tired of searching, but I can't find it.

Suddenly that ship has an awfully complex crew with a lot of developing relationships. This is really a much more multilayered story than I expected. I'll bump it up to a 9 just for the transitions from one crew member's story into another's.

Yamato last calls to Earth, the most memorable from the original. I seem to really enjoy seeing crew members getting along together like that.

^ Can I have this guy all to myself? His personality seems to be that twisted to my taste = my type!! I even remember his 1st appearance in the bus/train where all the crew got into before boarding the Yamato, he seemed quite fishy. Finally more screentime of him and he is voiced by Seki Toshihiko ♥

YRA Radio was absolutely a nice addition to the ship, I wouldn't even think of that! Kudos to Yuria-chan for lighting up the mood. And later me hearing "Makka na Scarf", my mind went completely blown. I especially love that song!

A nice episode. Got to see the backgrounds of each of them.

I can't help but notice how hot Yuki and Akira are, and how these two are slowly getting closer with Kodai.

I have a guess that Yuki could be an Iscandarian, considering she lost most of her memories. A nice little mystery there.

I wonder what happen to Yurisha and where is she now?

After the last action filled episode, having this episode helped flesh out the characters and give them a bit of backstory. Not to mention that we're getting an interesting little love triangle building up (Akira is sooo beautiful but I think Yuki will win with the power of the first girl on screen troupe). Daisuke's conversation with his family was heartbreaking to watch. They do a good job of conveying the despair felt on Earth in this anime.

I loved when they played Red Scarf. They're keeping so many of the old song. I love that.

This series is so underrated and despite being a remake with amazing visuals and animation, it still fails to gain more audience.

I could never understand why Space Operas are so neglected in the anime community today.

I like slice of life anime and MOE but there is more in anime than that. So even if Legend of the Galactic heroes ever got a remake, i'm pretty sure it will flop in gaining more audience.

Good episode that fleshed out the characters and has backdrops. They seemed to have changed Yuki's backstory from the original, since she did have parents and memories, so it looks like they're doing something different with her this time around.

So far a fantastic show, with great characters and animation. And now, they even throw in some good fan service which wasn't over done. This show is just getting better and better.

A nice calm episode today.

And, Akira becomes the best girl for this series. Here are some reminders:

NSFW:

Looks like more action next episode.
This series is suprisingly good. Looks like I'm gonna be attached to this one once I finish it.

Shima's Mom just missed him that was so sad.

Yuki is that other person from Iscandar the whole memory loss thing plus how she looks like the other two is a huge tip off. xD

Not even Yamato is safe from fanservice.

That must have been a big FUCK YOU to REAL Yamato fans.

And from this episode, it has been confirmed for being a Macross-wannabe. And just when I was starting to like it by episode 3. For shame, Xebec. You truly are carcinogenic.

Interesting development, I really loved that they included the original ending of the Yamato being "Makana Sukafu" by Isao Sasaki, which really was a great touch.

It sure is quite a change for the more generic feeling added to the whole story as in the whole more natural slice of life part together with fan service which was a bit unexpected. All the new characters that tend to appear are also quite interesting yet strange as we don't really know what role they'll be having yet, but with that I do like where this is heading and I do wonder what will happen next!

I smell jealousy. Now that it's hinted that Rei might have a crush on Kodai her chances of dying just rose because it's obvious Mori is the main love interest. Speaking Mori, this episode pretty much confirmed she is related to Iscanar.

What an idiotic thing to say, I mean I havent watched that many space sci-fi or mecha anime but I can tell that most of them have very similar stories. Its either they are fighting alien bugs, fighting intelligent lifeforms or a combination of both.

I m calling it right now, Mori is that other chick that came a year before to bring earth the plans, but she somehow lost her memory.

While it lacked any action I enjoyed the character built this episode gave us, some shipping seems ready to take sail too.

Despite being a relatively quiet episode, I found it very intriguing and interesting for the many things that the various characters said. Also this time the commander Okita gained other points as a character, thanks to his way of doing and the pearls of wisdom that he was able to dispense in this episode. Interesting narrative construction, which lets discover many aspects of the characters still unknown and that creates at the same time also many unanswered questions. After Kodai and Mori have confided to each other, it is logical to think that the girl is a relative of Sasha. I really laughed so much thanks to the nurse and not only, in the end I understood why the party is suddenly created, served as a screen for something else, at least I think so.

Looks like this will be a love triangle between Kodai, Yuki and Akira.

And that security officer is creepy. But somehow the girl with the glasses didn't bother that much with his body contact. I wonder what relationship they have.

Good, I longed for more character relationships. Glasses-chan and the security officer look fishy. Could the latter be a spy of Gamilas, hmmmm...

I loved the tiny details even about the most minor characters, sweet. I even think that the moe-element introduced by the medic girl is not that bad, she's adding some mood. Although I wholeheartedly agree that this is fanservice.

I am also pretty sure that Yuki has Iscandarian origins, there're too much hints for it not to be true.

Btw, I want to know what episodes are the scenes from the OP are from. A couple of them were used in the preview for ep. 7 at the end of ep. 6, but it looks like these scenes were actually absent from the episode (Yuki looking into a window with a sad gaze and Yuki looking at Kodai at the bridge)

7 eps in, this has been beyond brilliant and to some extent this was probably one of my favorite episodes. Such a great balance between action and relaxation, great to see the crew in a non stress environments and all the love triangles forming, i really like the captain too, was hoping someone would come show him some love, in comes the engine room guy to save the day :D
