Another Urobuchi anime? Hopefully its better than Psycho Pass.

Are the characters from that scan part of this anime or are they another Newtype Ace manga?

I'm enjoying PP alot, but it's not without it's faults, hopefully it is indeed better than PP. He seems do be doing quite a bit between the madoka movies, Rakuen Tsuihou, this and PP though.

PP is nice, but its rather slow paced imo.

Code Geass was amazing well R1 anyways and episode 48 of Eureka Seven was too so good choice for the director.

Apart from Madoka Urobutchi's writing has been pretty underwhelming. No, Fate/Zero sucked too.

Not really. You also have to take other things into account, like Saya no Uta (which was excellent).

I wouldn't agree with that. For me Madoka was good only for its plot but for the characters they are barely developed and not as likable. On the other hand, Fate/Zero has a well-paced story and the characters are amply developed as well.

So F/Z >> Madoka for me.

Plus, you really have to take into account the fact that Urobutcher is merely starting off his career as a professional anime writer. Right now his only original anime are actually Madoka and PP (he was guest writer for Phantom and Ufotable adapted the scripts for F/Z from his LN, the scripts were not written by him). Writing for a 13/26 episode anime is different from a VN (the pacing, characterization etc) so you have to forgive him for that.

Is he talking about doing something like that again? After that whole "I'm gonna be a healing writer" crap it's impossible to take him seriously as a writer.

how much shit can he pull together, I thought writing (complex) stories took time and effort and he's apparently doing a lot of them in a small time frame. I just hope it doesn't deteriorate his writing skills

Yeah, I hope so too. While there's much of him lately, we have to remember that he wrote F/Z LN several years before Madoka, so Psycho-Pass is his first work since PMMM. That's why I think PP isn't a sign of overworking but just a slip and his next work will be closer to Madoka's level.

Yay for Urobuchi. This means pretty much three things:
1. The idea of the show and the story will be awesome.
2. Half of expectations will be betrayed and twisted, with possibly guro type of stuff involved.
3. Every character you like will die. Possibly after going insane too, especially if they are idealists.

Can't wait.

Both Fate/Zero and Saya no Uta sucked, to be honest. Two weakest things done by Urobuchi, but for some reason, the most overhyped ones.

Urobuchi is a very good writer but sadly, his best creations (Blassreiter, Vampirdzhija Vjedogonia, Satsuriku no Django) are usually overlooked.

Anyway, looking forward to this new thingo and especially for Hanaharu chardesigns. <3

Saya no Uta is entry level VN, don't be so surprised because it's short and :suffering:. Fate/Zero is Fate/Zero, Type Moon done by actually decent studio, no wonder it's liked so much when even F/SN was loved by many.

Meh, Blassreiter was the most horrible thing Urobuchi has ever done(and even that, by the overall standards of anime market is a damn masterpiece)

Saya NO Uta is awesome, F/0 is possibly the best thing he has ever done, with Madoka very close by and Psycho Pass is decent but way way way above Blassreiter's nonsense.

Everyone talks about Urobuchi, but I am more interested in the original character design by Naruko Hanaharu, who is famous for his adult manga with its unique art and eccentric story.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Well no offense, but I think an award winning writer is more important than a porn artist doing the art. And this is coming from someone who likes fanservice stuff <_<

No, I just think that people talk about Urobuchi only because he is more well known in the west than Naruko, NOT because he won award (to be honest, how many out there can name what award Urobuchi won??)

Well, for me 2012 anime which are better:
Kyouso Giga, Highschool DxD, Nisemonogatari, Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki, Rinne no Lagrange, Ano Natsu de Matteru, Daily Life of Highschool Boys, Inu x Boku SS, Uchuu Kyoudai, Kimi to Boku, Fate/Zero, Kuroko no Basuke, Saki: Achiga-hen, Sakamichi no Apollon, Hyouka, AKB0048, Jinrui wa Sutai Shimashita, Yuru Yuri, Dog Days, Kokoro Connect, Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, Girls und Panzer.
With ~10 more being on similar level to Psycho-Pass.
I like this series but can't honestly say it's good yet.

I'd probably put about 50-60 shows over it.. seeing as how I dropped it after the first episode. Terrible in every way and was trying to be edgy and gory just for shock value.

I am sorry but a quality-writer known for deep, shocking and awesome storytelling is far more exciting factor than a hentai artist.

Look how much the character designed mattered in Madoka - it still felt like Urobuchi's story.

Agreed.

Its not Urobuchi's best, but its still better than 99% of everything this year(which is not hard considering this year was VERY shitty in terms of anime quality)

Truth be told, before Madoka I would say that Naruko was almost as well known among Japan otakus, at least those who paid any attention to hentai stuff (not only its fans). As for deep and awesome storytelling, I wonder if you have ever read the story by Naruko...

As far as I see, all the excitement in forums in the west is one-sided in talking about Urobuchi. To me it is just an indication that people in the west do not know about Naruko. I of course expect Urobuchi got talked a lot more than Naruko. It is the same case in Japan, but the fact that there is absolutely NONE whatsoever mention about Naruko doing the original character design is just evidence of ignorance to me. Nothing else.

Which is why your opinion is invalid, having seen only ONE episode. It'd take a couple more than that to have some weight to your words.
