As we all know, the organization in our meetings is not the best. I have heard multiple complaints that everyone was disorganized and for me to get a microphone haha. Anyone have any suggestions to solve this?

I still think we should move everyone to one section of the library (the back) where the rows of desk are. This will make addressing the club body easier since we will not have to address the body in 4 different directions. Forcing them into concentrate in one area will also lessen the gap between the 4 major social groups and a number of individuals in the club.

Does anyone else agree or disagree?

And please share other ideas to organize this club.

Yeah I think forcing them into one area would help, but I think the area where most of them sit (in the front) is a better choice than the back. I mean, we are going to use the projector on watching anime days anyway, so I like that area more.

As for speaking... All you have to do is talk louder Katie :)

I am speaking as loud as I can. But its not only me, many people can't hear any of us over the crowd. Should we invest in a microphone?

The front is still too broad for my liking and the back seems more organized, but we'll just direct them to the front unless the problem continues.

Part of the volume problem is because everybody isn't in the same area too, so I think by grouping them in the front we can solve both problems at once. Plus people will usually like the broadness more because they have more space and options to where they can sit.

If we consolidate everyone to the same area, it would also force them to talk to other people and get to know each other. Everyone mostly just speaks to the friends they already know. We got to change that so we can actually start learning all the names.

I agree that having the people more contained could help with the noise problem. Let's try having them all sit in the BACK (in chairs, not on the tables). They can move to the front for anime-viewing. If anyone has a portable karaoke machine, the officers could use that. I don't think we can use the school's microphone. It would be good for members to get to know one another and learn names. Name tags??

If you need me to, I can turn on the Mean Librarian Mode and do some fussing, but I'd rather stay out of it.

I believe that we do need to ''bridge" the social groups in the club. The point of this club was to meet new people and watch anime with them. We can't do that if we have people staying in a big group. I'm not saying we have to force them or assign seating or whatever but we do need to figure out how to get people to interact one another more.

So the only idea I have right now is to force them all to sit in one area. Should we enforce this?

i think your right because putting them in one spot will help them be able to hear you.

Okay, so I think everyone agrees that we need to concentrate them. Do you want them in the front or back?

I say back.

Sara says front.

Kubo says back.

Please vote : ) (or if you all want, I can make a poll post)

Either should be fine as long as they are together, but because we voting I guess I would say front, so when we watch an anime we do not have to move.

Oh and about the microphone, I don't think we need one. None of the clubs use one including NHS, which is one of the largest, maybe the largest organization we have at the school. We all just need to speak up more, and now that we have more officers, hearing us may become easier.

I don't think it matters front or back. Just one concentrated area is what we need.

Whether we have people sit in the front or back, I think the biggest problem with organization is that it is hard to grab everyone's attention. People start talking, and then nobody can hear anything outside of his/her table, and then nobody knows what is going on because the few members who notice that the officers are trying to announce something cannot hear a thing over all of the different conversations going on.

I do not think we need a microphone or a new seating plan. I think we need to have all the officers have the members quiet down before anybody tries to announce anything. That way nobody has to yell and, hopefully, organization improves.

Hm I like Sam's idea. Since we have more officers now, would everyone mind sitting in different areas and calming different groups when needed? The only group I want to move is the senior group in the back. This should make our main body more concentrated.

I don't know if calming that particular group is possible... I think you know which one I am talking about.

Yeah you would know that group personally Andrew. :)

I still think grouping them in the front is a good idea, and perhaps move the senior group to the very front of wherever we decide to sit everybody.

I think we should just try concentrating people in one spot for now. We probably should also split the officers around a little bit to calm different sections/groups down if they get too excited. If that doesn't work, I honestly think we probably should be a little more forceful. Though I don't like the idea of yelling at them and acting overly bossy. :/

We just need to be more bossy during announcements, after it should be fine. Also it will be easier when we know everybody and everyone parties together on halloween!

mm Moving the seniors to the very front will work to quiet them, but would it seem like we're favoring or talking only to the seniors?

Alright, everyone will have to split and take control of the group there were placed in.

Nah moving them to the front doesn't mean we're going to talk to them more or favor them.

Well, I'm not up to yelling, but you can go right on ahead! I will support you. :)
