| They never gave a reason as to why it was Kotarou. He's supposedly the 'child born every hundred years' but they never say why it was him or how they found out. I imagine it was something to do with his parents while they were in China. |

| He was a special kid. Why? It was never explained. The reason they needed to kill him was to transfer his soul to the emperor to make him immortal. With that logic, Kotaru should already be immortal. I am confused myself because I am using their logic against them which still does not make any sense. |
