I thought it would take longer before Kraehe figured out Tutu's real identity. Fakir was almost worthless this time around.

...even a saint needs a soldier to do the dirty work.

Fakir just gets nicer and nicer.
And Rue just gets farther and farther gone.

I wasn't expecting that at all.
I'm finally used to it now but wow.

I'm sure that was an intended turnaround.
Love, now this is a big emotion to get back. Yet we've plenty of episodes to go.
I'm excited as to how this all will turn out.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

Who'd thought I'd be so captured by an anine titled "Princess Tutu"? Good tale, good telling works every time.

"And if you're a prince, you have to use your wisdom and courage to-

Oh, that's impossible. Eh heh heh heh."

Okay, that line just made me LOL.

I stopped watching this anime for a while and now I came back to it. I'm excited to see the other episodes because of the creepy tone and the fairytale beginnings. I think it's really interesting that she loves him so much she wouldn't let him have love back in fear of him loving someone else, which he was already starting to do even without the emotion?

Drosselmeyer puts a really nice addition to the story. I love it when a show starts with cliches but just tears them apart.

Ahhhh... Rue is starting to really piss me off. And Fakir was a puss in this ep, but I know he'll get better.

This anime is stellar and I had no idea about it until last week.

I agree with earlier posts... Drosselmeyer is a crazy mf, but is SUPER entertaining.

Love, found and lost literally! :D

Drosselmeyer is really heating things up, I'm into the next episode...
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.

I have such a love/hate thing for Drosselmeyer, but he really is spinning the story on in such an unexpectedly good way.

It sounded like Edel tried to call out as Ahiru was running away. Maybe she is starting to become self aware, or developing some sort of basic feelings.

Really enjoying this more than I expected. Drosselmeyer makes this story much more interesting. Can't wait to find out if the characters can find a way to avoid being manipulated by him.

Wow, this is starting to head into brilliant territory. I realized this at the same time Drosselmeyer pointed out that the characters are playing roles they may not be "suited" for. The Knight that fears death,Tutu can't say she loves her prince, The Prince has no emotions, and the Raven (of which Drosselmeyer hinted may not actually be the case) can't go full evil.
"Yes, I have been deprived of emotion. But not completely. Whoever did it, botched the job."

Just like as I thought, Rue is up to no good again. Poor Fakir and Mythos though....they have no idea what they got themselves into especially the latter.

Quite an interesting turn of events, although I'm starting to wonder if Ahiru will end up falling for Fakir. It seems like she's really starting to understand him more and more. Also like what Drosselmeyer said about them not properly fulfilling their roles, it's taking an intriguing twist to the whole fairy tale concept.

Weird zoodoo magic stuff going on in Rue's dorm O_o looks like she is now fully aware of the fact that she is Princess Kraehe.

Whoa Princess Kraehe took the piece out of the Prince's heart!

Kraehe is sexy af when kissing Mytho, but now I've seen some foreshadowing that the true villain is actually perhaps Drosselmeyer.

But then some question left on my head, why did Nue didn't realized at the first time if she is Kraehe while Ahiru already know it since the first time she transformed to Tutu? And if Edel have ALL the gemshard, why didn't she just give it to Ahiru so that she can give it to Mytho? From the first scene after the OP I've been thinking that Edel is actually Drosselmeyer's puppet who controls the story according to Drosselmeyer's will. I hope that its true if its a foreshadowing.

Very creative style in story telling by having the writer as a character and saying those things.

This is getting better and better, I like the characters interaction.

"If you are the knight, you have to conquer your fears and defeat the villan"

"If you are the villain you have to kill the princess without mercy"

"If you are the princess you need to save the prince with the power of your love"

"if you are the prince you need to use your wisdom and courage, whoops that isn´t possible" (LOL)

Really interesting episode, it seems that rue will not be the villan of the story and Drosselmeyer has been amazing every time he shows up (maybe he is the villan?)

The interesting thing here is that Drosselmeyer is praising the same things we the viewers are. Is the story implying, perhaps, that it is the viewers who are the villains and Drosselmeyer is merely complicit with our desire to see the characters struggle it out? The way he beckons the viewer to come listen at the end of each episode and our continual return seems to confirm that that is the implication, does it not?

Princess Tutu is meta in all of the right ways.

Drosselmeyer's commentary on the characters being poorly suited to their roles was interesting as well, of course, but it was the above that caught my attention the most in this episode.

And it was certainly a good episode. "How delightful. No, how tragic."

Drosselmeyer may well make his way into my favorites by the end of this.

The story is picking up finally. It's quite a simple concept, acknowledging how fairy tales usually go and teasing the audience about whether they'll head there or not. But it's working at the moment. So they're playing with genre conventions while questioning the traditional roles of good and evil in wondering whether the restoration of the heart shards is actually a good thing or just some mission for the characters who are just following their role. The presence of the narrator as a character is also something that used to be very common in postmodern fiction. These kind of tricks were common in the literature of the 80s and gradually in the movies and tv series after mid 90s until people got a bit fed up with them.

Ahiru giving the umbrella to the prince was nice, especially as later it turned out it had a picture of a duck.
