Say what you like. Just don't post it here. Exchange images between each other. Just don't post it here. Very bad form.

Hey, I'm not in anymore, I'll say what I want. And as an example, my wife criticized then pres clinton on national tv, in uniform no less and got called on the carpet. The admiral admonished the capt saying she didn't say anything derogatory against the pres just the simple truth and you can't get in trouble if you say the truth. He then finished by letting the capt know that just because she wears a uniform doesn't mean she lost her 1st Amendment rights.
She criticized him because he was on the campaign trail touting how well the military was treated and she called him out saying look at all of the benefits we lost under his administration (and naming them) in order to balance the budget.

-- Saying what you think isn't my objection unless it gets over the top obscene. I do object to mean spirited, derogatory images of anyone, government officials, even terrorists and enemy combatants. A stated opinion belongs to the individual, images have a tendency to be identified with the group. You can make a counter point if you want to but, after leaving the military, I spent a lot of years in advertising and public relations. Not trying turn this into a PC zone (pretty funny if you know me) just wanting to see us exercise a little discretion. If you guys want to exchange that kind of thing privately, go for it, but I'd really rather not see it posted here.

Ok, troops, back to the party! Otter, what other fun stuff can you devise? I've seen your work. You are good. Share some more with us, please.

Re: being PC - was working for a small independent newspaper a few years back. The two guys that owned it were younger than me (the world is younger than me). The good-looking young boss quipped something as he walked past me and I slapped him on the ass. He stopped, looked at me and said, "Is that sexual harassment?"

I said, "No, sir. It's Hisassment."

He said, "Oh. Well that's alright then," and continued on about his business.

How do you think I survived being one of the first two women to be posted to Sub-station Beyreuth way back when? Talk about a comedy of errors! Wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

You know me it's that Irish streak. Or maybe it's just a Davis thing. Plus Antalk is a riot he said what I was thinking. I can't even write it with a straight face. But here it goes

Sorry mother (hahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha)

OMG thats so funny and I don't know why

I do agree that somethings can be taken to far. You have to be aware of who you are talking to or about and then tailor your words to fit the occasion.

Rule of thumb
Bards should never go to Sparta and praise the virtues of Athena unless you want to get sent home in a bag.

Or

If you happen to be a male keynote speaker at a women's convention don't start out with saying "Yahoo you girls are hot, I think I like that blonde in the front row can I have your room number sweet thing (that will get you killed)

Thank you. As you know I study Legends, Myths ad folklore from all different cultures.
The fine point I mind refers to the fact that the patron deity of Sparta was in fact Ares god of war which accounts for there warlike nature. Athens patron deity was Athena the goddess of wisdom, tactics and battle strategy so if I was a bard (storyteller) I knew how to work my audience wink wink

Otter, you have it wrong, if I were to go to Sparta, it would be to sweet talk Athena into bed. Why go there if you couldn't do that?

Depends on the convention. If it's N.O.W. - Run for your life! If it's Vakbond Vakwerk - you better have a really large balance on your credit card...
