I see what you're getting at, but there could be any manner of reasons as to why Takatsuki is behaving like this. For example, it is not uncommon for people having trouble with their gender identities to feel it necessary to act in ways appropriate to their birth sex in order to fit in or prove to themselves that there's nothing wrong. Also it has already been established that she has a crush on her teacher. It could be possible that she's having doubts regarding her wish to be on account of her sexuality. I remember I thought for ages that "I can't want to be a girl - what sense does it make to want that when you're attracted to them?" While sexuality and gender identity have absolutely no bearing on each other, it's easy to get muddled up and worry about one because of the other. TL;DR, don't panic, I'm sure Shimura has a good reason, there are plenty of reasons why Takatsuki might think about modelling. |
