| Didn't like it so much as Madoka. And indeed it was kinda cliche. Kazumi was a little annoying for me, I expected a better personality. I wonder if in Kazumi too, there will be a familiar like Kyuubey. Kazumi was able to transform into a puella magi through that bell earring. |
| I got lost halfway through, shit was pretty intense. Even so it got me kinda hooked up, i'm curious about Kazumi, why she's a puella magi and all. Also, i like the fact that Kazumi looks kinda like Saya, just with longer hair. Though it seems like Gen doesn't have anything in particular to do with this manga. D : |

It would make it interesting, have some cameos from Madoka and the other manga spin-off, Oriko Magica. |

| Kazumi might be cute but she's annoying as well. I hope this manga will become dark and Kazumi's cheerfulness go away (just like it happened to Madoka). I can't wait for Kyuubey to appear (if he's going to show up at all). Also, setting seems to be much different from Madoka. :( |

That's like converting a seinen to a moeblob story. Besides that, the mangaka seems to be (IMO) pretty new/unexperienced. The pacing was...bad...imo :/ Still reading it because of love for the anime, but I dont expect much. |

It would be great to see a character with enough mental strenght to keep a positive and cheerful attitude, while the world around became awfully dark. And yes, with deaths and everything. But that's just me. |

It's one of the reasons I find the show even more unique than it already is. I don't think I'll try picking up this manga again. |

| I think they just slapped the "Madoka" title on it to sell more, because this had absolutely nothing to do with Madoka. xD Maybe it will be different in future chapters... But I didn't really like the first chapter at all. Art and character designs are weak, and the story is all over the place. |
| Aw man! How come this is the only time I saw this thread? Alright, where do I begin with my comment to this chapter?... Alright, here it goes... The spin-off seemed pretty cheery and genki but then I saw some nude stuff here. However, nonetheless, I quite love it considering that things are as good as new. Alright, alright I read all of the commentaries here in this thread and I have to say that everybody has their preference but I recommend that one should cool it, it is something new. Hating against the new media now might become love for the succeeding chapters. Come on guys, lighten up! |

The key difference is that there is a choice to be evil in Kazumi Magica; the detective was very willing to become a monster and kill innocent people in order to advance her career. I imagine that the villains will choose to be evil, and some of them may have very good reasons. Madoka Magica's form of darkness relied on constantly kicking the dog; the magic girls were hoodwinked into making a raw deal and everyone who got hurt didn't do anything to deserve it. But in an era where infant mortality isn't %50, we forget that people die randomly and no one guarantees that we will live a long and fulfilling life. I also would like to note that Madoka Magica started off pretty light as well. |
| Kazumi <3 Decent start so far although I don't find it dark, or at least yet. We'll see what happens from here though. |
