---Final chapter of Psyren---

Summary:

Personally, Miroku saving the future seems extremely cheap but I'm willing to accept it. I'd have preferred if villains stayed villains to the end, although it matches nicely with Miroku's speech to Ageha in the last chapter.

I feel bad the series ended. It felt incredibly rushed towards the end, but even so I enjoyed it greatly. It's also one of the few SWJ series that I've been reading since chapter 1, so it's sad to see it end. Then again, it managed to end pretty well considering its situation.

I will miss Psyren. I'm looking forward to Jump's next series as well as Toshiaki Iwashiro's future works.

Well, Spanish version is out (I'm colombian)

The only think that i disliked about the end is that they don't explain how Miroku died in the present, but at least we have a decent end to this great series.

it was rushed and axed but for that, at least they had a fast end chapter, that made resolved the issue. sad that it ended fast but what can u do u know. it was great while it lasted, Ageha has one of the best powers his journey was interesting and great to follow. hope the Mangaka makes a new series soon. i will wait for it. till then lets read other manga

P.S. FUCK YOU some 100,000 people or so who decided not to follow trough Psyren after its first chapter or stopped reading, or just didn't read it, just wanted to let u know FU!

It was ok ending, but I feeling there was a lot more, to bad it was rushed, and we got stuck with a planet eater. We also lost track of two great characters, that should have been part of the story more, that is, Oboro, and Asaga. Its really sad how it end, it could of been a lot more and better. But thats what happens, *sigh*.

Piece by piece, the ending was frankly put at it's possible best. Of course, some things haven't been answered and it's a little bit incomplete, but it was still okay. I'm happy to see that the author really kept on doing his thing. He could've make an alternate ending or something freakish but he did his own thing.
I'm really glad I have read Psyren, since chapter 80(yeah, I was a little late) and I really hope the artist will give it another go with another creation.

Yeah there's still so many characters I wanted to know more about. Especially the Dragon-powers guy. But yeah, at least it didn't end midway but we still got a (albeit rushed) ending :)

Good story though. I can't wait for the mangaka's next work

I kind of like the story but the ending was kind of random. They kill Miroku, and it ended? blloody wtf ....... theres some villians that still hadnt died or get confronted yet, and just like that THE STORY ENDED? O_O .... they could have made it until 200 chapters, that would fit the ending perfectly.

^It would have done that if it got a bit more support from the readers(read:Fuck you WSJ and Japan readers). This manga was going in and out of the Bottom 5 of WSJ and mangas there get the sack even if the story was far from over. Still, the ending was done with a bit of thought, not just a random ending midway. There were some faults either way but not all manga are perfect. This manga did very well till the very end.

Now to find translations of that side story novel and put this manga on my "Wish to be animated" list along with Mx0(another product of WSJ sacking).

He didn't die. They said, "The world began correcting it's course, for them, Amagi Miroku is dead." So basically, he's not trying to kill them anymore, so as far as they're concerned and aware, he's dead.

But yeah, shame this got cut and had a rushed ending. Considering the circumstances though, he did an alright job ending it. Looking forward to his next work.

You know, I liked Psyren in the beginning because it was somewhat similar to Gantz. IMHO, the series went downhill in chapter 80 or so; it got drawn and boring. Although it doesn't deserve to be axed as some WSJ series should be, I think this series was a bit overrated by its foreign readers. In fact, it's the most popular manga in Manga Fox Looking forward to his next work nevertheless.

Pretty good series, you could definitely tell there was a change in the whole manga towards the end.
It kind of sucks to hear that it got axed due to lack of popularity in Japan, though. The same thing happened to Mx0 and Double Arts :|

for EPEEN reasons, I'm going to say I told you so...Ageha, of course, can't die. XD

Finally, Ageha and Amamiya saved No.7, was wondering when it'll finally happen...Too bad no harsh remarks from her though.

Totally wanted to see a badass cover art with Nemesis Q for the last chapter. D:<

Well psyren, it was a good ride, thx for the enjoyment since the first release day.

I agree with you a 1000%. The similarities between Gantz is what also drawn me in, and after chapter 80, it became the typical, trite WSJ manga to continue its production., which suxxed. :(

Like most of the people, I'm also sad. Really sad.

It's a shame that such an underrated series got axed so soon when the story had more than enough potential in store to express several characters fate's in more detail.

*Sigh*

My favourite one is Kagetora Hyoudou
So now...
My question:P;p :
In this (last) chapter he was standing with bags near Matsuri
Is it mean then they are toghether now?
Did he win a fight for her hand with Ian??
Did the 23th trial of propose to Matsuri was ended by succes?
If somebody want to tell more about it just say it:P;p

Read it and loved it.

I think the author did a pretty good job putting all the pieces together and finishing things nicely with the little time he had left.

I don't really understand why some people just label this as 'shit'.

I for one didn't find the ending odd or disappointing..hell, I understood everything.

I wish this would get an anime.

Not bad, not bad at all. The later chapters got a bit complex but I enjoyed reading this manga and the vast cast of characters of contrasting personalities.

I did find a few similarities between this and Mirai Nikki such as the usage of phones, technology, and Nemisis Q/Deus Ex. However, this manga was still decent.

Just a little detail that I hate about the manga : example when they do a time travalling 10 years in the futur on ( fake date ) sept 7th, they see the world is destroy so when they get back in the present and get back in the futur again in example october 15th, the world is not the same BUT in the manga they act like they never goes to the futur in the sept 7th ( yes it was in a parallel univers, but they still do it in the present so, in the other futur, they still make the trip to 10 years in the futur on sept 7th trough... ) but the autor forget that and I think it would have been a complet different story in that case ! But If I don't take that detail in count, the manga is still really good!

Turned out pretty lame and generic. Resolution was too goddamn simple, rushed and Mithra was a shitty final boss. Definitely one of those endings that you can tell was squeezed out sooner then the author planned.

I lost interest in this series somewhere around chapter 50, about the 2nd third of the story, and my interest in this series never return. It was about then, that Oboro and Asaga became irrelevant, and the plot went on without much focus on the characters. I've heard of how amazing this series was few years back, now that I've gotten to it, it was meh at best.

I really don't like some of the characters, especially how Ageha was written. His 'cool' or 'badass' moment never really impressed me, in fact, I thought of them as lame. (except for the first third of the series). As the series went on, I stopped caring about any of the characters, except for maybe the kids Elmore took in, they were cute and badass, and funny too. I can't pick a favorite because I like them all about equally.

The plot is terribly average, and the deal with time travel still leaves a hole here and there. The new power, "Nova" was sort of asspullish, an easy way out to deal with the enemy. The resolution for the finale was.. terrible. Miroku's change of heart was just weak. A lot of characters were also not given an appropriate amount of screen time.

I guess, that's about it, how I feel about the series.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention, the fact that Matsuri is on par with Grana pisses me off so much. And also, the romance aspect of the series, the way it was brought up felt like the author had a sudden realization that he could also do romance in his series, and decided to put it in, out of nowhere. Terrible.

Edit: The series bears a lot of resemblance, whether in term of story or character or design, to many other series, like Hikaru no Go, Mahou Sensei Negima, Dragon Ball Z, Beelzebub, etc.

Edit 2: I forgot to mention this before. In the manga, we were told/shown that other countries actually existed, not only Japan, but we never actually got to see how other countries reacted to this whole incident. I was not quite satisfied with the lack of it.

And so it ends. Which is too bad, since it had so much potential as a longer series. Overall though, it ended well for the amount of chapters it had to work with.

So it was in the future timeline that Granar and Miroku defeated Ouroboros? At first I thought it meant that they came back in the present timeline to defeat it, but then I saw the pipes and stuff everywhere. I really thought everyone had died and No. 07 was talking to him in another limbo world.

But why I did feel "Graduations" when everyone said "Wake up Ageha!". Maybe that was just me. (Evangelion reference)

At least it looks like everyone was happy in the end, and they even went to rescue no. 07 in the present. So, can't fault the happy ending. I really liked these characters and would have been sad if any ended up permadead.

I really liked the timeline aspects of it. As a big sci-fi fan, it really drew me to the series. I think it was more around chapter 120 where the series started to slip for me. (when the WISE group attacked the base) From there, things felt rushed. I really would love to know what plans the author had for the series, if they would have had more time. I'm sure it would have been great.

Final Rating: 8/10

Well i didn't think the author will pull a save of the other future world too in this last chapter but he somehow managed it.

Anyway it was decent series that obviously was rushed to end due to cancellation but in general i can't see how he could manage much better with only a few chapters to end things.

Great series, at least we had a decent ending considering that it was rushed.
unlike Gantz which was an overkill of a legendary series. complete disappointment.

I'll miss this so much and also most of the characters weren't developed.
From chapter 120, there was supposed to be a series of epic fights. one fight
i wanted to see in particular was Mithra vs Marie. also Hiryuu with any of the villains.

When Nova came out of the blue, I didn't know that it was possible since there were no hints of it throughout the series. Rushed reasons I presume. Their powers were developed in an instant. Ageha's ultimate form kinda reminds me of the Kyuubi.

The conclusion of the story was well planned although most people tend to over analyse this since they have a sense of incompleteness due the series being rushed to the end. It's pretty clear to me since I paid attention to the story. Some details are better left to your own subjective opinion.

I'll give this a 9/10
