| Bokurano: The characters are forced to pilot a robot and fight to save the world in exchange for their life. So they either fight and die saving the world (if they win that is) or they don't fight and die with the rest of the world. At the end of the fight, the next person who is forced to fight is told in advance, so we get to see the characters reflect on their lifes, the world around them, and die. And there's no loopholes or magical resurrection of characters. - added - |

| i'll add it. well, most of the stuff i read is comedy (and yaoi), that's why there aren't many relations till now at the manga section. but if anybody knows tragedy mangas tell me and i'll add them too. that's what this thread is for ;) |
| Socrates in Love, The Heart of Thomas, Clannad After Story, End of Evangelion, Berserk, Our Happy Time, Solanin, Gankutsuou, all the Deep Love series, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Blue Literature, Apollo's Song, and Clannad: Tomoyo After. Also you should add the Manga to anime adaptions to animes like SaiKano and Barefoot Gen, just to make the list look big and balanced. Some might question Berserk because a lot of reviews make it out to sound like a violent action based series, which is stupid. The main character is basically a tragic hero: his lover has gone insane, his best friend betrayed him, most of his companions were killed in front of him, and he can never seem to get revenge for them. Also while I haven't watched End of Evangelion in about a year (it's a very special occasion each time) all my memories of it are people dying or going insane. Tomoyo After handles a lot of things rather comedically, but the ending is a very tragic death and life goes on scene.The rest of them have a nice amount of tragedy, I don't think they really need me to comment on them. |

| On the Manga list you added Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days, which is a Romantic Comedy inspired by the main anime series existentialist ending exploring different ideas on the characters meaning of life. The regular Manga certainly has some tragedy in it, but Angelic Days doesn't. Also Shigofumi has a lot of tragedy, for instance a guy with cancer who's parents are dissatisfied with him, friends ending their friendship with him, and getting ran over and all that nice stuff. |
