Metal clanks as a shadowy figure appears in the middle of a forest. The moonlight shines off of the figures dark blue armor. A raspy breath escapes the helmet every now and then as the figure walks through the night. The figure seems to glide, riding on the shadows cast by the trees. Small flowers and the grass begin to wither the thing walks by them. The sword the figure has strapped to his side seems to whisper as he comes to a stop. Before him lies the edge of the forest. Once he exits into the clearing, he sees a vast plain, with a large castle and a city surrounding it. A small chuckle slithers through the air. "Finally... Veras." (Skaar Deathrune has set his sights on Veras, the kingdoms capital city! But for what reason? Is his intent violent? You must find out!) Mission Number One! Find out what Skaar Deathrune is planning! |

Helinon strides into the great hall of the palace, guards knelling before him. He approaches the king, and falls on one knee. "My liege, I have heard rumors of the infamous Skaar Deathrune being on the move and approaching our kingdom. Shall I investigate this for you?" |

"As you wish my lord." Helinon then gets up and quickly walks out of the castle. He then goes to the stable mounts his horse, and heads off to his estate, where hopefully his informants had gathered for the meeting. Hours Later..... Helinon strolls into the room. the room itself is a large den, with trophies of war and hunting adorn the walls. Other than that the room is bare, with only a few peices of well crafted wooden furniture here and there. In the room there are also 5 men in black cloaks. "Well men. Report." The man in the center of the room aproaches Helinon. "Sir we have found a location that Skaar was supposedly seen at. We were not able to confirm this information." Helinon nods. "You've done well Leutenant. Please feel free to rest here for the next few days." The men nod and disperse. Helinon returns to the stable and heads north to the location, on order to search for leads on his location. |

A campfire billows as Helinon rides into Skaar's encampment. Skaar stands, throwing more wood into the fire. "I have very little patience, Paladin... What do you want?" Skaar's sword, which was strapped to his back, seemed to whisper with voices of the long forgotten dead. |

"I'm just here to confirm the rumors. I wasn't expecting to actually encounter you, Skaar Deathrune." Helinon's voice contains neither mockery or malice, as if saying his name was a mere formality. "If you were able to escape your prison in the north then my country is in danger. Fighting you alone would do it no good. If you allow me to leave, it will end until we meet on the battlefield." |

"For me, a simple recon mission. And to answer your question, you may not attack our country so much as you will harm it in other ways. I am sworn to prevent that, but right now I am ill-equipped to challege you. If I find you again, it will either be the death of you, or the loss of my soul." with that Helinon remounts his horse and speeds off to report to the king that the Devourer of Souls had returned. |

A wall of screaming souls tears into the ground in front of Helinon's horse, frightening it, bucking Helinon off. "You will not disrespect me in such a way as assuming I would dare harm a soul! What I did long ago, I did out of stupidity and rage. I was frustrated and I was a child." Skaar stands at Helinon's side, holding a heavily gloved hand out as a peace offering. I only devour the souls of the ones who would seek to destroy anything of this world." The whispers coming from his runeblade begin to become more clear to Helinon. "Kill him Skaar! "Tear his soul out and let him join us!" "Yes, yes, Deathmourne hungers!" "Feed us!" Skaar shakes his head. "I am tormented by their evil. I devour those who are only of the most evil as to keep them in an eternal prison. Hell doesn't even deserve their kind." Skaar gestures the hand once again. "I wish to help you." |

"I suppose that mean that there is a threat to my kingdom that we were not aware of." Helinon grasps his hand and pulls himself up. "I know more of the story than most people and why you acted in those ways long ago. Assuming that I believe you, what can you tell me about what you mean to help me with?" Helinon may not trust Skaar, but if one comes seeking redemption, it is a paladin's duty to allow that attempt. |

Skaar removes his helmet, the flesh flayed from his face. "The shadows. They come again. My master, the one who taught me how to wield the power of the Death Knights himself, is returning." Skaar's face shows traces of emotional pain as he speaks the name. "It is he who damned me to eternity with this curse." Skaar clenches his fist in anger. "He's the one... Who..." skaar shakes his head. "Memories are worthless to a Death Knight. They only further our pain. I'll tell you that story some other time, but for now, we must be on our way. The Darkness approaches." |

Helinon nods. "I think the king should hear this. However he might be a bit......hesitant, to speak with you in person. I'll go to the castle and you can wait at my estate. If the king agrees to see you, I'll send a messenger. However, if you insist, I'll just take you to him immidiately." |

Skaar appears to think about it for a few seconds and then nods. "Your estate may be the better of the two. If I waltz into your kingdom's well-guarded capital, then I'll probably be attacked on sight." Skaar slides his helmet back on. "I will await you there." A portal appears by the two and Skaar begins walking towards it. "I can trace your power back to your estate, so inform your king that Skaar Deathrune, "The Redeemer" wishes to speak with him." |

"I hope he'll understand. I'll return with his words." With that he goes after his mount, and after finding it, makes off to the King. He rushes into the castle, without the usually courtesies. "My lord something has.......developed....with the situation with Skaar. He's no longer the enemy. His tutor, the one who gave him the powers of a Death Knight is returning. We must recall all the paladins, and some of the...dare I say it...heretics. Their power is needed here. With the amount of power Skaar has imagine what his master has!" |

Skaar rests upon a large leather chair near the fire with his eyes shut. His eyes open and he stands as an ominous presence washes over Tamaia. "Hicand..., Skaar growled as the sun disappeared behind a blanket of darkness and plants everywhere began rotting. A voice slithered like a poisonous snake through all of Tamaia, speaking to all of its residents. "Darkness... Is... Eternal!" |

The King glances at Sypher and raises and eyebrow. "Damn... I had hoped for more time, but it seems this war will be inevitable..." He turns to Helinon and sighs. "Soldiers.... TO WAR!!" ----------------------------------------------------- Skaar Deathrune appears in the room through a portal made of pure shadows. "He is here... We have no time..." Skaar slides his helmet onto his head and raises his sword. The runes begins to glow and the earth trembles. Skeletal arms force their way through the ground as nearly one-thousand Undead soldiers rise from the ground. He turns to the King. "We await your command..." |

"Paladins of Tamaia! Heed your lord's call! To war!" Helinon turns to the king. "I shall gather my forces and bring them all here. Where are the Heretics? Its time their powers were used." Helinon then looks up to the dark sky. "Come you foul presence! Face the wrath of Tamaia! Face the wrath of the Light!" Helinon takes a dagger from his belt and throws it at the clouds. When it reaches the clouds it detonates, shedding light, and dissipating some of the clouds. |

Hicands body dissapeared as soon as Helinon made contact and reappeared behind the King. "Darkness will consume your people..." He then teleported right in front of Syphers men and cast a spell which tore all of their souls out immediately and fed him. "The Light brings not hope... But fanaticism, zealotry, and stupidity." He appeared in front of Skaar and held his hand out. "Betray the Dark, and it will betray-" His sentence was cut short by Skaar's blade slicing through his arm, cleaving it off. "Enough of your prattling, let it be finished!" He brought the blade around with extraordinary speed, but Hicand moved out of the way, and appeared again by the king. "You are all doomed... It is not I whom you should be conncerned with." Hicand placed his hand on the king's shoulder and then suddenly vanished, taking the king with him. "DAMNIT!", Skaar roared, taking his helmet off and throwing it to the ground. "I failed again." |

Helinon stands there and looks at where the king once stood. "You didn't fail Skaar. We did. Our lives were devoted to protect this kingdom and its ruler. We failed. And we will not let this go unanswered." Helinon Raises his head and screams at the top of his lungs, "Nephilim! Zerfall! To me!" Two portals of darkness appear, and out of one comes a man in a black hooded robe, with white hair and an average length white beard. Out of the other, comes a man cloaked in the very essence of darkness, his armor radiating it and shrouding his features. "It is time to fight. The King has been taken. Zerfall, I need you to track where the portal went and where it goes. Nephilim, I need you to see if you can detect any undead attacking our country." Nephilim nods and kneels on the ground. Around him, tendrils of darkness erupt from the ground. Zerfall looks at Helinon and gives him a grin. "I guess its time for war. Lets do this." Green fire erupts from Zerfalls robes and move from him, to where the king once stood. |

"I did fail. I made a promise that I'd destroy Hicand, but I failed again." Skaar shakes his head. "I destroyed that village because rumors were being spread that the village was Hicand's hideaway." Skaar clutches his runeblade, which shimmered in the sunlight as the Darkness began to fade. "I took matters into my own hands. I didn't investigate any further. I just killed everyone there. I believed rumors Helinon... Rumors... I remember their screams perfectly. Each any every one of them haunt me to this day." He begins to walk away, but turns to Helinon. "My apologies... I must not be prepared to face him yet." |

Just realized I didn't confirm this a while ago. <_< Mission Complete! It would seem that Hicand Ichorheart has returned, and has something dark planned for all of Tamaia. Skaar's intentions are to kill Hicand and not anyone else. Could he be help for the next mission? Mission Update! A report has just come in about an extraordinarily malevolent being just entering Tamaia. All that is known about him is that he wields a massive broadsword and wears extremely heavy armor. His face is shielded by his helmet. Citizens who have seen him have also made a comment that whenever they caught a glimpse of him, their very soul felt like it was being eaten away. The King may have gone missing, but you cannot allow Tamaia to go into chaos without its ruler! For Tamaia! |

"Damn it man!" Helinon grabs hold of Skaar's armor collar. "Just because you feel remorse doesn't mean you aren't ready to fight him! Even if you did fail again, this time is was not just your fault. You are a death Knight seeking redemption, and the Light forgives, Skaar! You are fighting alongside Paladins now, those who once hunted you! You may have made mistakes, but those mistakes don't mater now! What matters now is finding Hicand and killing him." Helinon releases Skaar and stares him in the eye. "Will you fight alongside us, Heretics, Paladins, and Death Knights?" |

(Mine too...) Skaar opens a portal back to the Northern Wastes. "I will make my home in the north and prepare for war." He turns to everyone. "I will only offer this once..." "Nephillim, go with Skaar and assist him in training his men." Nephillim nods again, and moves up to Skaar. "Let us go, comrade of death." Nephillim, for the first time since his discovery speaks. The paladins Ready their weapons at the man who just entered the room. However, Helinon waves his hand and orders them to stand down. "Victor, I assume? Your reputation for following in Skaar's path indicates that that is who you are. In any event, what is your business with Skaar?" One of the paladins approaches helinon and says to him, "Sir, we can't trust this man! He has laid waste to everything he has come across! He must be destroyed!" Helinon simply scoffs at the paladin. Victor waves as if to dismiss the Paladin's comment. "I was originally interested in hearing his views and ideas on Necromancy... But whenever I seem to get close enough to him, he somehow gets hundreds of miles ahead of me." He shrugs. "Catching up to him now is just a challenge. I still do intend to ask him his views and such." All of a sudden, with a strange new look in his eyes Victor turns his gaze to the Paladin who previously made a comment about him. "You think it's alright to just try to kill someone whom you don't know personally?" He takes a step towards the Paladin and a massive black aura overtakes the room. "You think it's alright to just try to kill me?" A MASSIVE sword forms from the aura and he raises it over his head, looming over the Paladin like a gigantic tower. "I'd gut you if I knew it wouldn't cause me any problems." He turned and walked away, the black aura retreating to his body and a holy one taking its place. |

Victor walks briskly behind him, suddenly more cheerful in spirit. -Far in the Northern Wastes, in a space warped by time.- "You know what you are all here for..." Skaar stood in front of the newly created Death Knights. "You have all given your lives to further your kingdom's. Now go, and show that what you have gone through has not been a waste!" (Note: The area where Skaar trained the men was an area of unstable mana flow. Time flows more quickly in the area, causing the men to be done with their training in six hours, our time. "First we need to find him. Then..... I'm not sure. He is a truly powerful opponent. Even the Light can no longer affect him. Charging him head on will lead only to the annihilation of all of us." Helinon leans against a nearby wall, deep in thought. "Without the King here, we no longer have any source of reinforcements. Only the few demons that Zerfall and the other heretics can summon, and your undead." Zerfall walks up to Victor. "I don't think we have much of a problem. Each of the Heretics that i have personally trained can handle two demons at a time and here are 6 or them. We also have 56 other Heretics in the city alone who can summon one demon, and I can summon a Legion Commander. He's a powerful demon who can summon more demons that are under his control. All in all we got about 100 demons ready to reinforce the battle. We also have the 500 soldiers who are at the castle, plus another 500 if we wait for a few days for the rest of the soldiers from the outlying area to get here, and the 10 paladins here. There are about 40 paladins with those men and about 100 Heretics in the countryside that are doing information gathering. We've got at least 200 demons, 1000 soldiers, 50 paladins, 150 Heretics, 25 death knights, 3 Paladins gone death knight, and one of my own Heretics learning the dark arts, not to mention all the undead you death knights can summon. And lets not forget each of us. Skaar Deathrune, Helinon, Nephilim, Victor Fellheart, and myself. We alone should face Hicand. We are the only one who could survive a battle against him, but i suggest a joint summon between myself, Victor, you Helinon, Niphilim, and Skaar. We could summon a tracker demon, a powerful one. It should lead us straight to Hicand." |

"I do have one specific concern though..." Victor raises his hand to his chin, tugging at the hairs. "The way he spoke... It sounded as if he had someone more powerful behind him." Zerfall shrugs. "There are powerful creatures that exist outside our world. I have been conversing with the demons I have summoned for nigh on 20 years. Yet I have never heard them with a nervous tone to their voice which they have now. I believe that the Lord of Demons, or a being of similar power is taking steps to invade our world and Tamia is simply the stepping stone. A creature of that strength would be able to tear an entire army apart with a snap of his fingers. It would make sense for a being of power to take Hicand as their host, as right now, he is the single most powerful being in this world." Helinon steps away from the wall and approaches Zerfall. "If it is a demon, then we paladins can handle it. We have been training endlessly on the exorcism of demons since the discovery of the Heretics. We should be prepared for that happening." |

Helinon nods towards Skaar. "Excellent. I didn't expect them to have completed their training so quickly. In any case, I believe it is time to organize our counterattack. Victor has brought to our attention that your old mentor may have a master of his own. We'll need to be prepared. We will begin the summoning in 2 days. If you have any questions on the plan, ask Zerfall or Victor, they'll be able to answer them." As Helinon finishes speaking, Nephillim and the Death Knights step out of the portal and salute him.
