@ZXEAN Not specifically? Doesn't have to be Demon Slayer, sure it could be included but we could also put JJK and MHA into that category as well
I was referring more to battle shounen that get overhyped in general when they're not really that special either
@texasfangirl1999 Despite being generic those anime end up being soo popular with such a high score unlike this one. I wonder what's the trick ?

@ZXEAN Because shounen is popular with mainstream audiences, it gets promoted the most online, in media, in fan communities, etc.

Honey Lemon Soda is not "overhyped" by the anime community like what you were claiming, just because it might be popular with the relatively much smaller and more niche shoujo community

Despite being overhyped they are still managing to satisfy soo many people's expectations. I don't think any generic anime is capable of doing that.

Ok, Not overhyped and still end up with a score 6.8 , Looks like it's just a generic shoujo then if it was really good then it might have ended up being this season hidden gem just like Medalist.

@ZXEAN What's even your point? Your whole original argument was that the shoujo community was overhyping Honey Lemon Soda, 6.8 is not a particularly high score by any means, also MAL scores don't always reflect the quality of an anime, I've watched plenty of anime with below average scores that ended up being some of my favorites, and I've also seen many high-rated anime that I hated

It's all a matter of personal preferences dude, if you don't like it don't watch it, no one is forcing you, I really don't understand what point you're trying to make here

Everything doesn´t have to be a masterpiece. We can love a simple romance storyline, is not something bad. Of course, it won´t fit everyone´s tastes, but what if we love Honey Lemon Soda, for example?
I´m a girl and I follow shonen and other popular series from other genres. There is nothing wrong with following a simple slice of life anime with a romance storyline. We can love shoujo as well and this anime is very sweet to watch.
I actually think this anime is underrated .I´ve seen many popular ones that I can´t believe they have many seasons.
But to each their own,good thing there is always an option to watch.
