In-story, Zenshuu is the happy-go-lucky TV reboot of a 1980s (?) vintage anime movie which was so dark and depressing it ended up a box-office bomb. Wonder if Studio MAPPA will have the courage to create that movie for real once the series ends, with the original angsty plot and character designs as the director envisioned?

"What do you do at the end of the Void? Do you have time for a movie? Will you watch it?"

It sounds to bleak and hopeles by the end, I don’t know if people would want watch this type of movie.

Hahahahaha! πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I wouldn’t count on it. Most of the time with these kind of stories they’re never made. If they did make it I’d check it out.

This. But with 4 episodes left to go, I don't really see that happening...

Tale of Perishing itself doesn't seem that original or interesting in the year 2025. It's supposed to feel dated and wonky by today's standards.

And the point is that, even within the story of the anime, it's just not a good movie; it just holds special meaning for Natsuko.

Why? This show already spoiled everything about it.

IF they were to actually make that movie, they would have made it before this, not afterwards.

@perseii "Not good"is a bit too harsh, but true enough.

But idk, I feel like anime or just shows and movies in general VERY rarely have bad endings.

Or even bitter sweet endings that lean towards bitter more than sweet. There is absolutely an appeal to truly tragic endings, and a LOT of the time they end up being some of the most memorabls endings out there.

So there is a demand for stories like that, that imo isn't being met.
