@RobertBobert I know these manga, what point are you trying to make? Did you even read the first sentence or understand the topic? Anything past 200 is overstaying their welcome.

| @mechian Yes, thanks, I can read and count. The fact is that manga with several hundred chapters and more are not something particularly rare. Especially if this is a very popular work and the author does not have much desire to finish them. For example, in a cult Ranma there were 400+ chapters. Mahou Sensei Negima! has 355 chapters. Urusei Yatsura has 366. Domestic Kanoujo has 292. Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai has 271 and so on. Rentai Girlfriend is definitely a long manga, but it is far to the longest. |

| If Pastel was a weekly, it would be a great contender for the chapter count. It has 219 chapters with 44 volumes in total, published from 2002 to 2017. The chapter count was low because it was monthly. But, with a total amount of 44 volumes, it's a real deal or at least one of the longest-running ones. Surely, at this rate, Kanokari will release its 45th volume soon. |

@RobertBobert Alright I take your point but want to comment on two you mentioned. Negima is at least half a battle manga and The World God Only Knows got deep into the plot / fantasy stuff. Both have worldbuilding.
This is a straight drama focused romcom with no worldbuilding, mystery or side plot, simply asked if it was one of the longer ones (not the longest).

| @mechian All this is very subjective. For example, I understand why people despise MC in this manga, but in my opinion the hatred of Rentai Kanoujo is quite over the top. |

I mean the title is misleading, ''longest running'' except chapter count can point to the time frame too. I dont mind reading manga with a lot of chapters if the author has ideas but the waiting for new chapter is irritating.Anything past 200 is overstaying their welcome. |

| I stopped reading this manga at chapter 358, since about chapter 270 I only read by inertia, knowing that there is no story, I just read the chapter in less than 1 minute. The mental pressure to drop it is greater than the effort to read it, luckily at one point I got 4 chapters behind and decided to stop reading. This manga doesn't have any kind of progression, it's cycles, when it seems like it's going to progress something, it goes back to a previous point where Kazuya feels shame and Chizuru is ambiguous. As it's just circles, it doesn't have a story either. At one point I thought maybe introducing Yaemori was going to help change something, but nope. Before that I also thought that introducing Sumi was going to generate something, but nope. In the first few chapters I hated Mami, but she's really the only one that when she appears she generates some interest in the plot, but it's still insufficient. |
