| I'll be real, I love BL. I watch every BL I possibly can as long as it isn't the worst absolute garbage (which can be hard to find) and with what little of quality stuff we get, I'm constantly hoping for more series to pop up. So I had this one on my list. This is a comedy, straight-up. It is so funny and so messed-up, but they are keeping the joke the joke and this last episode just showed this has a lot of hilarious potential. So while I don't really care about MAL score bombing and all that, I feel like people who came into this show expecting a BL romance was shocked at the fact the literal VAMPIRE is a creeper. And hisoka-voice and boner slides aside, I have seen waaaaaaay more creepy and unsettling stuff. Hybrid Child looking at youuuu So my only hope is now viewers who are disregarding it for the low score at least give it a chance if they like batshit messed-up comedy. I have no idea if this is a 6 or a 10 but I'm going episode by episode and enjoying the ride. This isn't a BL, and whatever feeling I go into watching BL is non-existent in this. I see why viewers wanting BL instantly noped-out and scorebombed. But what it seems to be is twisted vintage-feeling comedy and I'm here for it for now. | I think this registers as being even less of a BL than, say, Patalliro. Though maybe some romantically gay characters will show up sooner or later. |

| @lordgaara Weird, it actually gets pretty fair treatement on Anikore (It's Anikore page here, with a score there of 6.39/10), MAL's equivalent for Japan, with none of the rushed conclusions people here on MAL are having of it. Just a few reviews from there, translated to English. I'd translate more, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to do as much as I've already done. But the opinion there is much higher there than it is here. |

| @lordgaara Oh yeah, one thing that one of the reviews mentioned is that there's going to be a live-action jdrama (Feels silly calling this that, since it's basically a non-drama) adaptation of it come February 14 this year (MyDramaList listing for this version). Honestly looking forward to that when it comes out, since it'll be a different take on the manga, different from the anime. I personally don't mind watching two adaptations of the same thing at the same time. Though given how the Japanese description talks about it, it seems like the live action adaptation will be a movie, as opposed to a TV series. EDIT: Oh... it got delayed too. | The reason this anime piqued my interest, is that the mangaka of the manga did a BL series I really liked, called Dousei Yankee Akamatsu Seven. It had some comedic elements, but still some serious stuff. And it was undoubtedly BL because of the romance btw the two male leads. I haven't read any of the other mangaka's work. I guess because the Vampire wants to suck the kid's blood, it's labeled as BL? Or because of the mangaka's past works...? But if there's no BL romance in this, it's gonna be a hard pass for me. I can tolerate some comedy anime...but this seems way too over the top. Review bombing it is dumb. But that's MAL for you. |
| What I want to know is why Fairy Ranmaru doesn't have a bl tag, the male characters keep kissing each other. As Daviljoe193-chan said, Babanbabanban Vampire is a BL similar to Patalliro. The BL is definitely there, but it won't be appearing on the screen all the time. |

@giveup-the-ghost this mangaka was the artist, the writer of Dousei Yankee Akamatsu Seven is another bl mangaka called SHOOWA. i think Babanbabanban Vampire is this author first original manga with bl elements. His other bl work, 2together, he also worked as the artist, he didn't come up with the story. Since the original was a thai bl novel.
