First, how is the animation "weak or bad?"

| @DiznyOrdiz I should have been more precise. It is weaker and worse compared to what people say about it. Objectively this is a show with average or slightly above average animation, but far from good. Also, what people say about does not mean anything. People talk about things based on their enjoyment or taste. So in this case when they say the animation was good, it actually means that they liked the animation, but that does not mean it is good. You can like things that are bad. I mean majority of the people believed that the Earth was flat. Are we really expecting this majority to be able to tell which show has good or bad animation. I made this image when it was aired as an example to explain the problem, because yes, I had this argument multiple times and no one was able to refute me: Screenshots The problems are the same as in any GoHands anime, but not that exaggerated. They used techniques and ideas without vision or skill. So there are 2 main issues in the whole show (yes, I know this is from EP2, but i was noticeable during the whole show) and those are the focus and scaled objects. Even when objects are in the same depth, there are some object that are in focus, while others are out of focus. You can see this on the 2nd and 4th pics. They clearly don't know how to utilize the focus, because there are objects that logically should be in focus, they are still out of focus. What I mean by logically here is that the viewer supposed to look at those objects. Like on the 4th, the viewers look at the magic circles naturally, but those are out of focus, while the pillars or even the windows behind the pillars are in focus. Or on the 5th pic, where you physically can't look elsewhere, but still the smoke is out of focus. As for the scaling, you can see the problem on the 4th pic's magic circles. The reason why those circles look like that, because they likely drew them "normal size" and scaled them down. This is pretty amateur and made them look awful and unrecognizable. To be fair, there are some inconsistencies, like how the pattern changed on the floor between pic 2 and 3. But this is still the smalle problem. I haven't talked about the 1st pic. That's actually a reference to show that their out of focus "style" is not a stylistic choice, because you can clearly see the glasses' shadow. Generally speaking, these are pretty amateur errors, which clearly downgrade the show's quality. Yes, on character animation, it actually looked good, but that's not everything. And majority has clearly no idea how animation should look like or work. MAPPA released a JJK episode where even the animators who worked on the episode told us that only 30% of the animation was done and people called that episode "well-animated". No, people have no idea about animation. And again, yes, these images from a single episode, but like I said, you can see these issues in every or almost every episode. |
