The ending may lead to a second season. The manga has enough chapters to make a continuation so now the only thing we can do is wait. Anyway, I highly recommend to watch this show, it's great

clearly hints and leaves space for S2, now we can only hope to get it soon, it was one of the gems from last year, can't recommend it enough honestly

Disney didn’t make it, they’ve only licensed it and distributed it. Poorly promoted it even, as Disney could ever do for any anime.

Disney co produces any kodansha anime that is made exclusive for Hulu/Disney+.

well, since the anime didnt adapt everything from the manga, it has a BIG open ending. you could say that season 2 got cancelled

Left open. Trusted industry insiders have said season 2 is happening so its all but confirmed. Main problem is there isn't enough manga for s2 yet, so it will probably be a couple years. I'd guess 2026 or 2027 before we get s2.

If i remember correctly it was canceled due to unexpectedly low demand or insufficient funds or something. So I wouldn't expect it to resume production anytime in the future.
Read the manga I'd say.
You can even start reading from the very beginning, as you'll soon realise the anime is a tiny piece of the manga.

yes any kodansha anime made for Hulu/Disney plus is co-produced by Disney. the next one is medalist
