I still can't understand how Ufotable despite having released a season of training has made everything in the worst possible way, adding fillers that were not needed and also quite useless and excessively extending many scenes that instead should have been more contained, not to mention that Ufotable is not even that good at creating interesting fillers, look at the Muichiro episode with the airplanes, what the fuck was that stuff that killed my brain cells? I'll tell you how I would have made it and if my idea from your point of view would have been more consolidated than Ufotable's: First of all I would have always made it 11 episodes -1 episode: I would have left it the same -2 episode: I would have added here the past of Shinobu and Kanae told in the novel where they asked Gyomei to train them as demon hunters -3 episode: I would have left the Tomioka ep the same with the addition of the extermination of his sister instead so as to highlight much more Tomioka's determination to become a hunter instead of just saying it in words -4 episode: here I would have added the Tomioka spin off present in a manga in the form of Tomioka's thoughts where in this spin off shortly after meeting Tanjiro Tomioka wondered if he had made the right choice in saving Nezuko and Tanjiro while participating in a mission with Shinobu to defeat a demon, at the end of this mission Tomioka seems to have found his answer and it would have been nice to see it, because after the events of the 3rd season Tomioka's choice proved to be right in all respects -5 episode: I would have condensed the training of Tengen, Muichiro and Mitsuri in a single episode (thus removing those useless episodes dedicated to Tengen and Muichiro) -6 episode: here I would have added the rengoku spin off, making Mitsuri after finishing training Tanjiro start talking about Rengoku and how he became a pillar while training Mitsuri -7 episode: I would have put Obanai and Sanemi training -8 episode: I would have condensed Gyomei training and Gyomei's passage all in one episode (so I wouldn't have divided it into 2 parts considering that Ufotable made it a lot longer) -9 episode: I would have put Sanemi and Tomioka fighting and from here I would have told the beginning of Sanemi's spin off the one in which he shows his relationship with another demon slayer that allowed him to become a hunter and the beginning of their mission to be promoted to pillars -10 episode: 2 part of Sanemi's spin off (since it is very long) in which I would have shown Sanemi and the other hunter's mission to defeat the 1st waning moon Ubume until we connect to the part where Sanemi destroys one of Nakime's eyes in the present -11 episode: here I would have put Muzan's walk (which was iconic in ep 7) and I would have left everything as Ufotable had done in the finale with the difference that I would have also added the crescent moons to be shown in the final scene so as to further load the scene that would have dedicated the basis for future clashes. This is what I would have done (if I had to use the training arc) As you can see I didn't even need to invent anything, just choose and manage the times and some scenes with which I would have shown this arc, instead I took the material from spin offs and novels that would have also given us much more action than what we saw, and it makes me laugh how Ufotable didn't think about it, also considering that many novels focus especially on exploring the characters on this part of the story in a very interesting way: for example there is a dialogue between Muichiro and Gyomei in which Mui worries about Gyomei in case he awakens the mark since he is 27 years old and therefore has already passed the 25 in which the curse should strike and Gyomei reiterates that he doesn't worry and in fact that he is more worried about Muichiro and Mitsuri given their low life expectancy (at that time he hadn't yet bonded with Tanjiro XD) and from there an interesting dialogue is born where you can also see the growth that Muichiro was having, which Gyomei acknowledges, (this is to give an example). What do you think about all this? |

That demon Slayer is not a series worth all that thinking it's consume and dump series. It's not a series worth talking, writing and thinking about it. Watch it in the hype then move on until the next installment because the answer to why it's been made that way it's because Aniplex and Suieisha the main producers of the show decided that way ufotable had nothing to do with it in the decision making. Demon Slayer is a Aniplex baby not ufotable. |

What he says is that it could've been a whole season using the novels which I do agree, they could connect very well in this arc. However there's no point in getting upset at Ufotable as it's done already and it wasn't even their decision. |

@Otakupervert890 I think the big problem with Demon Slayer is its overly simple plotline, and sometimes the plot just feels predictable. This is especially with character deaths. |

Despite being not a fan, I used to rate DS more than shows I like more simply because of the adaptational quality. This season, except for the last episode... fails. Many shonen anime excel when they present their adult cast, and they kinda made it feel underwhelming here despite the presence of material. |

It would take a lot to convince me that this season should have been longer. The hashira backstories and relationships sound like interesting additions, but to me (anime-only) they still feel like distractions from the core of the story, which is clearly entering the endgame. The season should've focused on the task at hand, with some small character moments woven into that. For one, I did like the conflict between Genya and Sanemi. It was bound to happen from the whole "everyone training together" premise, it seriously challenged both of them personally and professionally, and Tanjiro was stuck trying to mediate. In contrast, I thought Gyomei's extensive backstory was mostly unnecessary, since it wasn't particularly original and led to anything dramatic. They could've cut that down to just a few glimpses and hints about his past. Tanjiro pushing that boulder was far more relevant to the story (no matter how silly that sounds). It's great that you put this much thought into it and you're obviously deep in the lore. And I wouldn't mind seeing these stories, just in a special/OVA, not within the season. It should've been 5 episodes at most. |

@Otakupervert890 In short, it doesn't change the fact that it was still a disappointing season, but at least they could have offered much more canonical content to entertain the viewer (and not useless fillers that contradict themselves). In any case, I find this vision of yours very limiting, if you have the possibility of improving the project you're working on, why not do it? |

I didn't read this whole post, it's too damn long but if we are giving opinions I would say since this arc was so short Ufotable should have created a movie instead of a season like they did with mugen train arc. They should have just covered the whole arc in a movie.
@IkemenSenpai I would have instead opted for a very long season of 25 episodes which also included Infinity Castle (a bit like how JJK2 adapted Gojo's past and Shibuya arc), but since they wanted to create this arc in one season, they should have put more effort into the realization. |

@Levi1108 They made it so much better that they contradicted themselves: -Why didn't Muzan kill Sanemi and Obanai in the infinity castle (ep 1) when he could have killed them and taken out 2 pillars at once? -Why is it said that Obanai and Sanemi are equal in strength when in the manga it is shown that Sanemi is on a higher level? -Why does Tengen complain about being useless when he easily beats 90% of the hunters present? And there are other questions that prove that they contradict themselves, because their filler is so bad. |

@perseii I agree, I would have also preferred a long season of 25 episodes that also included Infinity Castle (a bit like JJK2 adapted Gojo's past and the Shibuya arc). As for Sanemi and Genya, their conflict was interesting to see, but all of this really finds more depth in Sanemi's novel in which Sanemi's point of view on Genya is explored much more As for Gyomei, the main criticism is that Kaigaku really seemed like a character not very present despite having a huge role in his past and it would have been interesting to see those 2 interact in the demon slayer body, but I think that they have stretched the matter regarding Gyomei excessively. For the boulder that moves Tanjiro I didn't like it because it uses the mark to move that boulder, when the ability of "repeated actions" is in the fact that you can draw on more strength without having to show off power ups out of nowhere, for example Genya without breathing still managed to move that boulder, and Inosuke did the same without using the mark. Tanjiro at that moment felt like he was cheating. |

@lucas_tong_3133 There was no need to add unnecessary fillers, Demon Slayer has a lot of side stories that they could have implemented in this season to make it longer.

they only have 2 side story
which are rengoku, mitsuri n giyu shinobu
i think they will adapt this in upcoming movie during fight with akaza or
tv version of infinity castle arc!
@SoloNecromancer That is if you only watch the spin-off manga, but there are also the novels and there you have a lot of stories to tell, although the most well-made are that of Sanemi and that of Shinobu and Kanae. Also you did not read my post ? |

I still can't understand how Ufotable despite having released a season of training has made everything in the worst possible way, adding fillers that were not needed and also quite useless and excessively extending many scenes that instead should have been more contained, not to mention that Ufotable is not even that good at creating interesting fillers, look at the Muichiro episode with the airplanes, what the fuck was that stuff that killed my brain cells?
I'll tell you how I would have made it and if my idea from your point of view would have been more consolidated than Ufotable's:
First of all I would have always made it 11 episodes
-1 episode: I would have left it the same
-2 episode: I would have added here the past of Shinobu and Kanae told in the novel where they asked Gyomei to train them as demon hunters
-3 episode: I would have left the Tomioka ep the same with the addition of the extermination of his sister instead so as to highlight much more Tomioka's determination to become a hunter instead of just saying it in words
-4 episode: here I would have added the Tomioka spin off present in a manga in the form of Tomioka's thoughts where in this spin off shortly after meeting Tanjiro Tomioka wondered if he had made the right choice in saving Nezuko and Tanjiro while participating in a mission with Shinobu to defeat a demon, at the end of this mission Tomioka seems to have found his answer and it would have been nice to see it, because after the events of the 3rd season Tomioka's choice proved to be right in all respects
-5 episode: I would have condensed the training of Tengen, Muichiro and Mitsuri in a single episode (thus removing those useless episodes dedicated to Tengen and Muichiro)
-6 episode: here I would have added the rengoku spin off, making Mitsuri after finishing training Tanjiro start talking about Rengoku and how he became a pillar while training Mitsuri
-7 episode: I would have put Obanai and Sanemi training
-8 episode: I would have condensed Gyomei training and Gyomei's passage all in one episode (so I wouldn't have divided it into 2 parts considering that Ufotable made it a lot longer)
-9 episode: I would have put Sanemi and Tomioka fighting and from here I would have told the beginning of Sanemi's spin off the one in which he shows his relationship with another demon slayer that allowed him to become a hunter and the beginning of their mission to be promoted to pillars
-10 episode: 2 part of Sanemi's spin off (since it is very long) in which I would have shown Sanemi and the other hunter's mission to defeat the 1st waning moon Ubume until we connect to the part where Sanemi destroys one of Nakime's eyes in the present
-11 episode: here I would have put Muzan's walk (which was iconic in ep 7) and I would have left everything as Ufotable had done in the finale with the difference that I would have also added the crescent moons to be shown in the final scene so as to further load the scene that would have dedicated the basis for future clashes.
This is what I would have done (if I had to use the training arc)
As you can see I didn't even need to invent anything, just choose and manage the times and some scenes with which I would have shown this arc, instead I took the material from spin offs and novels that would have also given us much more action than what we saw, and it makes me laugh how Ufotable didn't think about it, also considering that many novels focus especially on exploring the characters on this part of the story in a very interesting way: for example there is a dialogue between Muichiro and Gyomei in which Mui worries about Gyomei in case he awakens the mark since he is 27 years old and therefore has already passed the 25 in which the curse should strike and Gyomei reiterates that he doesn't worry and in fact that he is more worried about Muichiro and Mitsuri given their low life expectancy (at that time he hadn't yet bonded with Tanjiro XD) and from there an interesting dialogue is born where you can also see the growth that Muichiro was having, which Gyomei acknowledges, (this is to give an example).
What do you think about all this?
