| I dont know if this has been addressed anywhere but why of all the arcs in One Piece was this one chosen? Both the pacing and animation weren't as bad as other post time skip arcs so I dont know why this over Dressrosa for example. |

From my experience, i barely remember any fights from this arc. I just remembered some lores about poneglyphs, some joyboy stuff, etc. This arc is probably the single most worst paced arc. There are some cool moments too but I can remember them little. Like it's that bad. Not complaining about the plot of this arc but i really hate how Toei handled this arc just after timeskip.
I think those small lore parts you remember were all we really needed to take away from the arc anyway, the rest of the fights was just to show us how all the strawhats grew stronger over the timeskip so for that reason wasn't very memorable. But in terms of pacing it definitely got much worse for the arcs after this. |

Probably because it’s the first post time skip arc. But I completely disagree with the decision to remake any One Piece arc for this: One Piece was put on hiatus to let manga chapters build up and to focus on animation quality yet nothing says waste of time and money like wasting resources on remaking an arc essentially from scratch when they want to focus on quality
| @ajw215799 At least it's not completely from scratch they just put the Wano filter over the footage to make the lines thicker and cut sections to fix the pacing, it should only be a little more effort than the recap episodes. |

view this as a good thing because they might remaster the arcs after this since they started with Fishman island. if they remastered dressrosa you wouldn't be as hyped in the long run since you just view this as a once off thing... I don't get why people dont understand this.
| @Elti979 But this is most likely a one-off thing because of the hiatus which probably won't happen again. Also if the upcoming WIT studio remake is successful they might just continue to remake the rest of the story too so Toei won't feel the need to remaster any more arcs knowing this. |

| Dressrosa was already remastered in the "Episode of Sabo" movie basically, this was the first pre-timeskip arcs (return to sabaody & fishman island) where the Strawhats are wearing their main outfits, this was the primary reason i suppose |

| @ajw215799 This is not a remake, they are using old episodes and editing them. There is zero new animation. This is taking maybe 5% of total One Piece resources to make. |

@Dahaka_ Incorrect. They confirmed that they created a new soundtrack and the cast have recorded new dialogue.
| @ajw215799 Dialogue is exactly the same. Maybe there are a few reshoots here and there but it's not done from scratch. Besides this is irrelevant in context of animation, which is the reason why original anime is on hiatus. |

| @Elfezen I wouldn't really call Episode of Sabo as remaster, it's more like a compilation movie and a really bad one at that. It misses out too many important plotpoints and ends way too soon for it to be a suitable replacement for the TV version of the arc. Plus they don't really update any pre-existing scenes other than cutting them down to fit 106 minutes. |
