Does it get better or different?

I'm on chapter 29 and I hate that every character so far is either mentally disabled, an obvious asshole, or a normal person which MCs label as an asshole for no reason. It's like a never-ending self-pity festival: all they do is lick each other's wounds. The last time the girl had an episode I couldn't even begin to feel distraught. I'd rather drop it if all the critical moments onwards will be about her having an attack and the guy running to save her.

sure there's gonna be a lot of liking each others wounds, but there's also the characters struggle to adapt and make a living in a society they don't understand and can't fit in. they'll learn to accept other people's help and the female MC will make a great effort to manage her violent reactions. A good part near the end is about her back ground and young years with family and at school, it helps understanding her character better.

kinda, it's only gonna get more dark but also there's going to be a lot of character grow

it doesn't get "different".It builds and explores on the mind of the outcasts.
If you can't muster till ch 30 then it is better to drop it as it gets darker from the halfway point
