For a one-shot, that was pretty decent. When the princess was being chased, it reminded me a lot of Fire Emblem. The plot twist caught me off guard because I did not notice that little detail in the first pages. That said, I wish the main character had a better design. The princess was cute, though.

This was good yeah. I wonder if the plan is to make a series out of this.

Not a bad one-shot. Solid 7/10. Could see some potential for a longer series perhaps?

Quite a solid one-shot. Would love to see a full series come out of this one. The princess was cute. I'm happy we didn't lose her completely.

Very solid one-shot. I wish it was longer, though. I wonder if it's a prelude to a new series. This story surely has potential to become a starting point of a new manga.

Anyway, it was great to see a new dark fantasy manga created by Norihiro Yagi.

Some of this was interesting, namely the setting and magic system, but it suffers from all the same problems as Yagi's last oneshot. It's just overloaded with stuff to the point that it becomes mechanical and tedious. The plot needs to be much more tightly knit for this format, but Yagi seems to approach the oneshot from the perspective that it's just a treatment for a series. It absolutely can be, but I don't think this one strikes a good balance to be appreciated also as a stand-alone.

The translation is also very wooden and filled with errors. A shame that Shueisha would team up with a company that provides such a shoddy service. I'm disappointment for the author.

This could work as long running series, like eg. them finding a way to resurrect her completely but my only issue is that MC's scars didn't looked horrible enough to deserve being considered disguise (give him a scar in which we can see his teeth) and fight choreography could look better.
