I don't think the funny dad lines at the end justified that vicious slap when they got back from that accident. Makes me wonder if the dad is a big part of why Koko's behavior wildly swings so much.

That slap was not a discipline, but a rage based off the father's own embarrassment and his inability to handle himself as an adult.

But then again this seems to be par for course in many Japanese family relationships.

Holy crap on a cracker. Daddy Kaga just slapped that bitch into next November!

I can't say I wouldn't have done the same if I had a daughter like Koko. Some kids just need a little tough love. Seems a pretty cool guy otherwise if not as quirky as Koko.

Wow.

Based dad fr: WHAT THE FUCK IS UP, ALSO MAKE ME THIS FUCKIN RAMEN HERE BOI

Banri tells Kouko to accept herself for who she is, faults and all, to which she replies in basically calling him a hypocrite since he pretty much left his past self behind himself. Banri fires back saying that such an incident of him losing his memories was out of his control, and even tells her that it was her who wanted him to forget his past and focus on her. It goes on, and I believe it does boil down to Kouko being afraid that Banri would easily cut her out of his life like he appeared to do so with Linda. To that he responds: fuck no, and gives her a much needed embrace. I like this, it does help in proving that Linda's side of the story is not there merely for added drama or a love triangle or what not. It is for Banri, for his own character growth, and the development of his relationship with Kouko.

Best episode yet, might just be the highlight of the whole show. Does remind me of Toradora, and how the best scenes hands down were when characters just simply let it all out.

YO ALSO BANRI'S VOICEOVER IN THE PREVIEW AT THE END BE WILDING HARD WTF

Angsssssssst. My angst boner is so hard right now, angst makes me horny. People screaming and crying uncontrollably, let me drink your tears.

Major ep, maybe Banri and Koko have a chance? Definitely the first time I've felt like Banri is even half-invested in this girl while carrying a torch for LINDA. But it does still feel one-sided.

No wonder Kaga has an upright honest persona .Congrats daddo you have done well , ingrained a sense of self accountability in your daughter which is really lacking in this godforsaken real world.

Kouko's constant mood swings now seem more understandable after knowing her father. Her always being an honest and direct person seem to come from him as well. Interesting.

All it took was a near-death experience for Kaga to mature and call out Banri on his BS. He is also a child for always running away from his past.

Wow that slap was something. And then that scene at the end, Kouko's dad is special.

This wasn't were I expected this episode to go. The drama was bad but it did make me like Banri more, although I might dislike Kouko. I don't think I was a fan of her this episode.

Her arguments at first were understandable, always acting like an annoying kid and thinking she can do everything, but her solution to "make up" for everything was just as childish and then when Banri said the harsh truth, she really started to blame him for "running" away from his old life, which he did FOR HER because SHE said so and to make her happy. And that was because he had Amnesia, which is much more serious and different than the reason Kouko has for running away.

And this all happened because Kouko wanted Banri to tell her everything which he did, so then she got angry when he actually told her about his feelings for Linda which weren't his fault and something he's been struggling with. And since she was angry when she yelled at Banri, I do think those were her honest thoughts.

To me it feels like Banri only ran away from his old life for Kouko because she wanted it.

Kouko really would be one of those girls to get mad at you when they say they saw you cheating in their dreams.

Kouko's father standing there lol. I knew something would happen when the door was just left open like that.

"He lied to you Kouko!"
"I was the honest one!"

Also pretty accurate response maybe to a car accident. Instead of brushing it off

@euphoricoddball Get out

Great episode, the dad is amazing. I knew he would be chill, I sort of thought he was the biggest victim of the trainwreck that is Koko, I really like her though, an accident like this is really hard to overcome. I really like how real the episodes can be, with so many different scenarios with the characters while also being quite realistic, it's wild. Be it the cult, the weird birthday party job, the amazing beach episode that was last ep, and how they came back from it, it was so real, the anxiety of thinking you are losing the day because of time, the weather is ruined...Then there's fucking GHOST BANRI, I HATE THAT FUCKER SO MUCH. Like bro, fuck off, that is not how amnesia works, stop with this bullshit already. I get it tho, Banri is anxious about Linda, he thinks he should care about her deep down.

I also want to express how, I don't feel like Banri abandoned everyone, he couldn't fulfil people's expectations of him, so he wanted a fresh start. If he'd lose his memory again, we all know Koko's clinginess would make her stay by his side all the time, this is nothing like Linda. Linda was scared and tried to distance herself, blamed herself for his accident...oh who am I kidding, it's the same thing happening right now, Koko would just never face Banri again
