| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- What a great first episode. The pacing was fast but not too fast - a lot happened this episode but it didn't feel rushed at all. Distinct characters and relations have already been introduced and are open for development from now on. The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Can't believe it brought me to the verge of tearing up in the first episode. So subtle and beautiful. I also like the art. The backround is beautifully drawn and the character designs rather remind of the 80s/90s. |

| Elizabeth seems rather strict and cold, but at least she doesn't harbor any malice against Emily. The situation is already uncomfortable as it is. So far I like Jimmy the most, he might be the saving grace in the Murray househould. Atmosphere and style in general are also pretty neat. Good start overall. |

| It's been a while since I've sat down and watched a proper WMT title. I was putting this off in part because of the art style, but I actually don't mind it now that I've seen it set in motion. Quite nice so far - Emily's imagination and vivid affection for the world around her made her instantly endearing. Can't say the same for the rest of the Murray family though. Perhaps there will be more to Elizabeth than meets the eye, but so far they all seem so full of themselves. Jimmy creeped me out at first, but seems like he'll be a decent guy. |

well , might be a decent watch but why dampen the mood in 1st episode with a dead parent  come on now! |
